Whats up with the new TU President ..

He's taking a leave of absence. Apparently his father is seriously ill.

Guess he's taking a permanent leave of absence. Hmmmm.

Maybe the old negative attitude regarding the engineering school has reappeared in the administration now that an engineering major was in charge.

Considering the new buildings recently added to the engineering school I rather doubt that. Engineering stirs the drink at TU.

Hard not to speculate though.

This is really unfortunate but I am not suprised. You won't be hearing any more about this, just the new search.

I hope you're right. For many years when those of us in engineering majors were shuttled off to the North Campus, it was hard not to feel like stepchildren. Its nice to see the new engineering buildings finally on campus where they belonged all along. The university is much more of a community that way.

It has nothing to do with engineering. Also doesn't need to be broadcast and chatted about. It was the right decision based on what I heard. Just surprised it wasn't learned in the vetting proceess. I am pretty surprised.

I agree and while all of the people who know something may be trying to help stop speculation by saying what didn't happen or "you don't want to know," it is only fueling questions and starting rumors. Probably be best for those who know something to stop posting that they know what happened.

Cap'N, I doubt anybody knows, but since the story is on TV news and they plan to continue investigating whether they say they do on here or not, it's not going to go away.

KOTV 6...

Is now reporting that Dr. Orsak has been fired!

What's going on here?

KOTV covers news other places than Oklahoma City? Who knew?

Here's an idea . . . he's local, he has a Phd from a school in Tulsa, he knows a lot about basketball recruiting, is great at fundraising, is very experienced with the media, used to have a plane, and was previously a university president . . .

Richard Roberts.

Are you a stripper? Cause you sure like to tease. Do we need to waive $1 bills at you to reveal what you know?

You do know this is why Al Gore created the interwebs?

Leave of absence, quit or fired?

[edit] email to alumni says terminated, which is fired... [/edit]

Like many others on this board, I know what happened as well and it does not need to be posted.

Let's put it this way...what happened, happened in public and you can't do what he "allegedly" did in public. People close to the situation knew that it was apparent something was going to happen, but the "incident" coming to the forefront made any deliberation about the decision pointless.

Very unfortunate and sad.

What did he do ... fart in public? If it was in "public" then quit teasing and post it.

Chris Harmon posted on the payboard about an "incident" occurring at Utica Square. What did he do ... show up in a chevy instead of a Range Rover?? Ask for regular peanut butter at Petty's?? Order a sirloin at Polo Grill?? OMG ... HE MUST GO!!!!!

I heard his baby momma was working at Saks Fifth Avenue and he went in there and bought 3k dollars worth of clothes but was only charged 3 dollars for them.

Tacky...very tacky...but I must admit I laughed.

What a buncha dicks. "Hey, I know what happened. But you'll be much better off as a human being if YOU don't know."

Who ****ing cares at this point?!

Someone on the World comments used this symbol . Which I assume means that he burped in public without covering his mouth or saying excuse me.

In his press release he said he was disappointed given all the due diligence TU had done, which means they should have known and presumably were OK with him liking to burp in public?

Also speculation that he pissed off local bigwigs by saying outrageous things like you can't get hi tech jobs when your school spending is 49th in the country. Perhaps he said some tough love things that sucked away any support he needed in a tough time.

Maybe he sat down and drank a Shiner Bock (one of those import beers from Texas!) in public while he ate his dinner!!!

His favorite hobbies are watching sports and going fishing and those people are mostly beer drinkers...they avoid the expensive wines and champagnes.
