This is the Republican Party

Bonehead Trump wants to privatize Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. That's a dumb move that could cause massive upheaval in the mortgage market. Is this another one of his supposed 'cost saving' ideas?
Private equity and Wall Street want in on the action. It is really what it boils down to. There will be virtual implicit guarantees that they will get bailed out if they go belly up. It doesn't matter how screwed up their books or risk-taking are. They won't go to jail—just cash checks and pay a small fine.

Borrowing costs will undoubtedly go up because the government probably underwrites things that wouldn't be possible without higher rates in the private markets

So how many cabinet choices has Trump nominated, who have criminal and reputation problems? Since 2016 Trump has nominated somewhere around 100 people who withdrew. That's gotta be a record for a president about to start out his second term.

I would be willing to bet he’s fired more senior officials that were his own noms than any other president. Some people think that’s a good thing, but I think it’s a sign of being a terrible judge of talent.

I think he is attracted to bravado, and quite often, bravado doesn’t actually accomplish much.

The opportunity to raise rates on a captive target market with an implicit government guarantee: the results will eventually be another S&L Crisis replay with the tax payers bailing out the culprits and no one goes to jail. Cue up quotes from Willy Sutton, H.L. Mencken, and P.T Barnum.

Trump seems to be easing up on Ukraine, after the fall of Assad. He is telling Putin he needs to act on getting peace initiative going, rather than blaming it all on Ukraine and insisting the Ukranians need to make sacrifices for peace. He also is saying we will reduce military financial help to Ukraine. Before he spoke about eliminating it. Seems like he realizes we have the advantage after Assad's fall.

My guess is Trump senses weakness in Putin’s current position. I would expect him to use that in a negotiated peace. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him hint at a much greater US involvement should Russia not accept certain terms. We will see.

Plus Biden is giving them 1B before leaving office, that Trump knows will tide them over along with Trumps 'reduced aid'. He doesn't have to claim Biden's package, but it all makes Putin suffer during peace negotiations.

I know it’s only 10 or so out of nearly 6000 colleges but has Trump stated he will deport students who are here on valid student visas or is this Axios trying to manufacture what is currently a non-story?

Trump just never lets something go. Network settles lawsuit with Trump for $15M likely because they didn't want to be in a lawsuit with Trump while he was a sitting President in a controversial lawsuit which they could have won or lost. It was a tossup 60/40 in favor of Trump & they would have looked bad in the case.

Stephanopoulos said something that was not factually proven in a court. There are ways around that seeing as how it was a lawsuit that was on the basis Stephanopoulos said it with malice. That's the problem with the case is having to prove malice. They just didn't want the hassle of the case because it wouldn't look good and they could have lost.

Now Trump wants to file several more lawsuits because his grifter nature can't walk away from money and winning. I guarantee the next suit won't even be as justified as this one appears to be. I also guarantee you the defendant network will take it to summary judgement, and likely trial. He will lose at least half the money they settled for if he goes forward with just a few trials. Likely more.

What a moron. What's new. He has said way worse about other people. I wish they would take him to court, because he has unjustly slandered many people. Take him for all he's worth. He has even caused threats on people's lives with the slander he makes.
