OFFENSIVE LINEMAN

Christian is the only one who is definitely on board so far. You're getting your skis out front a little too early. Give him a couple of three days before expecting to know that.

You have to see what's in the inventory to know what you need my brother's.

I don’t think Brody Duffel is in the portal
No Duffel is not in the Portal, but he and Morris, Ademisoye, Marks, and Waller have yet to make a supportive statement of Coach Lamb the way Christian did. Thus, only Christian has made a vocal sign yet.

As well as the ones Babe mentioned, Ringleb, Aguilar, & Johnston are also in the portal.

Tanner is up here in Chicago today visiting Northwestern I believe. Good news is that temp is going down to 4 degrees tonight!

Like I said./\ You won't know what's in the inventory till he has had time to pull people back in. They are uncertain, and some of them are actually in the portal. That will change in the next few days, and we will realize those changes over the next week or less.

How many of our OL are graduating? The underclassmen at this point are being re-recruited.

Maybe Ray Burnett. He started in 2019, so he has a year of covid eligibility. He's only played 4 years, but he wasn't on a roster for anyone in 2022, and I don't know exactly how that works. I think he gives up a year of eligibility for that year, despite not being on a roster. He redshirted in 2020. He's the only one that is probably finished that I know of.

What your guys take on local linemen like C/G Ethan Williams and C/G Blake Novotny. Coach Lamb doesn't run a power running game.

So TU have some youngsters on the line. The O line will need some experience going into the season.
Four freshmam and one freshman w/on were on the team last year. But all this talk of where the line stands is premature. The portal is not set yet.

I think Lamb will add a few older O linemen from the portal. I also think he will add just any many older D linemen from the portal. He said he would be focused on upgrading both.

I agree. It would be interesting the type of OL. In the past TU had big guys that only pass block. Will Lamp OL be more slim and athletic.

I imagine he'll bring Moorer &/or Jaquan Adams with him from ETSU.

Also interesting is if any of his Gardner -Webb players are good enough for TU ?

If the whole offensive line transferred that would be an incredible thing.

The offensive line at TU may have been one of worst, if the not the worst, in the history of NCAA division one football. Ever.

It is sad we lost Young Bear, and he is getting some decent offers. There was a lot of youngsters on the OL. Tanner is another youngster in the Portal. He has picked up offers from BYU, Kansas, KSU, Fresno St, and Houston.

We just picked up a commitment from Bixby's Evan McClure who RS as a walk on at OU.

Why dont TU recruit Offensive Linemen from Tulsa area? I see real earth movers from Union, Jenks, Bixby and Owasso go unrecruited. I mean Tulsa area Offensive Linemens with the right coaching can be monsters. That's my take.

Owasso’s OL was as big as some FBS OLs.

What more do you want, that first commitment is an OL from Bixby?

From the attention, the OL guys in the portal are getting from P4 teams you would think our line was great.
We need some starter-ready incoming OL to replace these highly valuable players.
Our DL guys in the portal doesn't surprise me from an offer standpoint they were poorly coached and then gave up.

A bad system, a bad coach, miscommunication, and several weak links in the OL can make it look like crap. Besides, only Tanner & Young Bear seem to have picked up multiple offers. The other 3 haven't seemed to get that many offers. When one or two offer it can often mean they are willing to take a gamble on you. When several staffs offer it means everybody sees talent. Also they are offering Tanner on potential. Lots of freshman get multiple offers on potential.

The OL was way worse when it comes to coaching. Technique was poor, ability to read the defensive front and make adjustments was poor. Remember, Monty's OLs were decent and could make a decent call and adjustment and the talent that came off those OL groups were tremendous. Willie Wright, Chris Paul, Tyler Smith all NFL guys. I don't think anyone would have predicted NFL for any of them coming in to college football. Tyler Smith is considered one of the best LGs in the NFL. Coaching here had to be decent to good to get them to a place where NFL guys were willing to take a chance on them...and considering Wright started at TU as a DT...pretty damn good coaching. So maybe the guys we had were actually decent and the coaching and scheme were subpar. There's a reason why we're transitioning to a new coach and staff for next season.

Ringleb is a Union kid. I remember watching him in Hs thinking he was going to be a beast in college. Hopefully the new staff gets his confidence built back up.

There are OL at Owasso not being recruited by TU. I know in the past the OL coach wanted minimum measurements of 6'3 300lb freshman. Those kids exist in greater Dallas and Houston area.
You see dominate schools in FCS such as North Dakota State, North Dakota, South Dakota State and Montana all home grown linemen. Oklahoma use to recruited OL from Oklahoma they have a few from OK. Our walk on should be packed with Oklahoma linemen. Just saying

It might be nice to pluck Tanner out of the portal if Lamb thinks he's worth it. Young Bear would be nice to have back too, but I'm thinking he may be gone to somewhere like California or Stanford.

Johnston & Aguilar can go wherever they can get an offer.

Monty had a size requirement for his OL. The minimum requirement for OL was 6'3 300. Those linemen exist in Dallas and Houston areas. Louisiana have some that size mainly Defense. I say this Coach Lamb, can go with quick and agile OL or road graders. Tulsa have at least 8 Offensive Linemen they can recruit each year.

They were massive and with the quick little scat backs they had they could do really damage...because their QB as a passer was pretty bad
I only watched that one on TV, but didn’t the Owasso QB throw for more yards and TDs in fewer attempts than the highly touted Union guy.

I'm talking the first game. I wasn't impressed with the QB and it seemed all the damage was done in screen passes and the little guys running wild. Union was a pretty poor tackling team...worse than TU if you can imagine that.
