Schedule?

The “All College Classic” needs to come back and rotate between okc and Tulsa with the 4 state teams participating. Win/win/win/win for all teams and fans involved.
The all college classic had OU, OSU, OCU and TU. Let’s revive that.

Less than two months to tip-off and no schedule yet. Even if they’re still trying to fill a hole they could release what they have with a TBA, I’ve seen other schools do that.
Coach did say that the American was supposed to release the conference schedule in September. They cant release their schedule until the conference does theirs. They also had two more holes to fill regardless. I am sure the OSU game was one

Would be funny if they were waiting on us and our last remaining game to release the conference schedule.

I would love to Will Smith slap the ad/coach of the programs that canceled on us at the last minute.

Guessing with the elimination of the boat anchor we employeed for too many years brought the belief that those folks might get a little more than they expected when they signed the contract.

It looks like the American conference has released the conference schedule today. It doesn't open on Twitter yet though. I hope TU gets to play in the conference this year. lol...........

I know a bunch of people are gonna be upset if ORU isn't one of the two that pulled out.

This makes me unhappy if TU plays 5 games away before the home opener. That has NEVER happened and is a recipe to kill fan interest with multiple losses before coming home. If this is the schedule I may turn in my season tickets in protest. Incredibly stupid for a new coach. Who is in charge of this fiasco? If it’s Konkol I hope his first season is his last. He already has shown he can’t recruit.

Don't we usually have a couple of SWAC or Southland teams in there at home?

It's a tourney after Oregon St. I don't think your gonna rack up that many losses.

There are probably 4 games that I am missing to bring the Non conference to 12 games. There should be two between Oregon state (this is a return game as we had them home last year) and Myrtle Beach. There should also be two between Detroit Mercy and LMU (another return game. That should give us 6 home games, 3 neutral site and 3 road games as non conference.

we do usually schedule some SWAC, Southland and Sun belt opponents. Not all schools have put their schedules out. If what I hear is true (take it for what it is) the conference schedule will be out tomorrow and TU should push theirs out then or by Saturday.

How has he shown he can’t recruit? His team hasn’t played one match yet. If this season is his last here then I am all for it. The only way that will happen is if we are In the NCAA tournament and we go far and another school makes him a big offer. So unless that happens, it won’t be his last.

Also I am sure that the OSU game is one of the two that is a last minute schedule to cover the two that pulled out. The two that pulled out were possibly home games so that took one away (possibly). Lol

The tournament should be exempt so we could have 6 besides the ones you listed.

He missed on a couple of bigs that recently visited, thus he can't recruit. Because we haven't had great performances/coaches over the years, I think some fans are getting a little antsy, and not being patient enough.

Well I don’t see all the recruit traffic that comes in and out. They probably had a better offer? They might not have wanted to come to a program with a new coach. Maybe they are unsure what the year will look like? I don’t know but I am not passing judgment on the man until I see what is going on the court. Everyone screams for a new coach and then we get one and now we have people complaining and the man hasn’t had one game yet.

Little premature to be honest. I’ll keep the rest of my thoughts on this to myself

Well we've never had a 10 day break in between games after the first game, so I doubt it will remain that way.(as you've already pointed out) If it does remain that way, the blame for this 'fiasco' lies squarely on the schools that backed at the last minute, not Konkol or Dickson.

The team listed on December 3 is our SWAC / Southland equivalent quality team, if it even reaches that quality.

You sir are a freaking moron. He's already shown he can't recruit? You do realize it takes a little while to rebuild a program right? GTFO.

Hey man… I didn’t say anything… trying my best to keep an open mind, but Konkol hasn’t done himself too many favors on the recruiting or scheduling front so far. That doesn’t mean he won’t be able to win games with good coaching though. And that’s all that matters.

Looking back at our closest analog for perspective: I believe in the 2nd year of Manning’s tenancy he brought in Lew Evans, Marquel Curtis, TK Edogi, Big E, and Stevie Reps. None of them were world beaters but all eventually had floor time in D1 in Tulsa or elsewhere. (Except for Big E)

I don’t think that sort of class is off the table for Konkol despite the fact that we’ve missed a couple targets.

As far as first year schedule, Manning had a pretty home-centric schedule when it came to lower tier teams and we played a few tough games on the road (Florida St., Creighton, WSU)

It looks like Konkols first schedule is going to be tougher from both a travel perspective and the level of competition he is scheduling. Nothing wrong with playing good teams, but you need to make sure it’s the best strategy possible.

Was just giving a little bit of humorous grief to that poster. Wasn't meant to be anything but using you as a foil.

Not the most exciting non-con.
Not bad though, especially with an inexperienced team. Depending on who we get in the second and third game in Myrtle Beach, as well as the outcomes of those games of course, we could build a tournament resume.

Ain't happening this year. This year is all about development within the program and installing a system. I'm not expecting many wins nor holding a poor record against the staff this first season.

Here is the Schedule!!! 11 Non Confernence Games 5 at the Reynolds Center, 3 at a Neutral Site and 3 on the road.

As much as playing on the road most of November sucks, playing at home most of December might allow us to get some steam going as we roll into the conference slate.
