Rest in Peace, Willie Townes

One of the all time TU greats, Willie Townes, passed away this weekend in Dallas. One of the first African American players in TU history, he was especially dominant in the Blue Bonnet Bowl victory over Ole Miss in 1964, winning MVP honors against a team from his home state that never recruited him. Here is a brief look at Willie Townes against Houston in 1964 (he is #73):
