After micromanaging Dane Evans for three years, Monty has let Brin do what he does. Starting WR corps among the best in the country. O-line is thin and hopefully not getting thinner.

D has been vulnerable against the run, that could be a problem this week.

Outside of about a dozen teams, parity is a real thing.

Manning: 38
Rhome: 31

Bonus Kendall prediction: Brin throws for three-fiddy.

Through shades of gold and blue: TU 27, Ole Miss 24.

Reality based prediction: Ole Miss 38, TU 24.

TU has always had to fight way above its weight, and the Ole Miss game will be no different.

I watched the Ole Miss/Georgia Tech highlights.

I was incredibly impressed by the Ole Miss defense and the depth and quality of their offensive backs.

“TU had better pack their lunch because it’s going to be an all day job.”

TU will have to play a perfect game and Ole Miss will have to show up beating themselves or not show up at all for TU to have a chance. This is probably a 5 loss Ole Miss team but they are peaking in confidence and at home.

it’s back and forth in the first half and we have our typical push just before half. 24-14 at halftime, but Ole Miss wins going away in this paycheck game.

Hookers 17
Johns 41

I wouldn't put much stock in how they played at Ga Tech. Ga Tech is really bad and fighting to not be the worst team in the ACC with Syracuse, BC, and VaTech. They're so bad, they'll probably be a +7 dog to Duke.

I’ll go with the 3-0 overall record of TU over Missy.

To me it is all about the running game. Can we stop their attack and can we establish ours? If we do both we have a decent chance, if we slow theirs but can’t run ours it will be close, if we do neither it will be a long day.

I dont think the over-under stays under 70 in this. Ole Miss defense is good but they will give up points this game, however, our defense will give up more.

Ole Miss - 49
TU - 38

I'm on this page, however I don't think they'll score 49. I think this is going to be a game for a good 3 quarters. We need to play solid and come out healthy when our season really starts October 1st.

Ole Miss 34
TU 24

Ga. Tech has been hollowed out by the transfer portal. An if, and a big if, Ole Miss just overlooks Tulsa and is looking forward to Kentucky.

Boom! Shake the room.

Ga Tech has struggled since they moved to Paul Johnson as coach (I know he's gone now) but they struggled to find players to compete in an antiquated style of football at a level that could compete in a P5 conference. When was the last time the wishbone worked at the highest level? OU in the 80s? It gutted the talent level and they just struggled to even break .500 most seasons. If you look at their records under Johnson, it was only slightly better than Monty's here with the occasional really good season...the only difference is GaTech was able to load their non-conf schedule with cupcakes to get to a bowl most years. Since Johnson left, they've been 3-9, 3-7, 3-9, and so far this year 1-2 (with the win against FCS Western Carolina). They are struggling to compete against FBS competition (sound familiar). We'll see how they do this week against UCF at Erector Set stadium in Orlando. I'm not saying Ole Miss is not good, just to take what they did vs GaTech with a grain of salt and put GaTech into some context.

ADD: A better comparison might be Ole Miss' 28-10 win vs Troy. I think we're slightly better than Troy. We still need to play the run better as Ole Miss seems capable of running the football. We need to have some semblance of a running game...enough to keep the LBs and safeties at bay on play action to give David enough time to throw, and enough of one to pick up enough yardage on 3rd and 4th and short to keep the chains moving.

Right now I'm leaning towards a 35-24 Racist Mascot win. If we can force a turnover or two we might have a chance.

If Zack Long is over his dose of the "yips", we've got a chance. Not much scoring on either side, so...Rebels-28 Yanks...27.

So maybe this is an entirely different thread but how much of Long's issues this season can we attribute to a new snapper and holder? Is timing the issue? I haven't seen enough of his kicks to see if it's a ST issue or if he is just having a mechanical flaw. Seems most of his kicks are pulled/hooked. It would be nice to have a kicking specialist on staff to help him but Monty doesn't value ST enough to care to do that.

I would venture to say that working with a new long snapper and holder have had a significant impact. On the surface it certainly appears that the snaps are good and the ball has been placed well. However, there are so many miniscual details, nuances, and variables that could be contributing factors, and they wouldn't be apparent to anyone other than the guys doing the work. I'm sure as we continue through the season and they have an opportunity to gain more reps most the incredible consistency we're accustomed to will be there. I fully believe that we have one of the top kickers in the country that will have and opportunity at the next level regardless of the few hiccups to this point.

“I like the way you’re thinking. I’m keeping my eye on you.”

What kills me is I can’t watch this game until that evening. My kid has a band competition and we don’t get back until 7 pm eastern time. That is when the game should be ending. I have to record the game and watch it when I go home. That means I have to go dark at 4 eastern time. Smh

Admiral Akbar 27
JarJar Binks 20
OK...trying to figure out who you're equating these with....I'm pretty good with my Star Wars stuff but I'm a little lost with what you're trying to reference with these

I believe he meant it this way

Akbar is TU - he has the line “It’s a Trap”
Jar Jar Binks is Ole Miss.

he could mean it the other way for the same exact reasons lol

I know nothing of Star Wars and thought one was a bad guy and one was good...then I looked them up and they are both good, so no clue lol.

Well, now that I think about it, Akbar was smart and a great thinker and mind in the rebel alliance. He's obviously equating that to TU. Jar Jar Binks was a dullard and easily moved to action by a mere suggestion without any heed to how things might end up...weak minded if you will...he's obviously equating that to Ole Miss and the differences in the 2 universities and their academic capabilities.

Or as you put it Ámbar was in the Rebel alliance and Ole Miss are the Rebels. So TU could be Jar Jar

How could you not watch this team and not understand we are JarJar? Who knows? We might win in a crazy way. But we will probably lose and it will suck watching it all. Like the prequels.

Also, several years back there was a movement to replace the Rebel mascot with Admiral Akbar. It even made an ESPN ad.
