This SFA team doesn't have great players but they play smart, disciplined basketball and are well coached.

Oh, and Pat Forde had a good article how the committee screwed up really badly by placing MTSU as a 15 seed against the top 2 seed. Less respect for CUSA than it deserved, even after the exodus. One more realignment and they'll be giving CUSA's winner a 17 seed.

Take it from someone who filled out all their brackets a half hour before the games started...I would not have picked Cal over Hawaii in any of them had I known their star player fractured his hand and was out. That was announced like half an hour after the games started and picks were locked. Ugghh. Also not lost on anybody that this is the second time in three years that beating SFA would have been our path to the Sweet Sixteen had we been able to make it to the Round of 32 either time. Oh well.
SFA beats the crud out of Michigan if UM gets past ND tonight. ND has too much size and fire power for SFA. WVa just forces teams to play phrenetic loose basketball and SFA has stayed very calm and disciplined.

That and how does Oregon get to play the play-in winner? Holy Cross is the worst team in the field by virtue of winning 4 straight road games in their conference tourney.

Wait, that sounds like Rock Paper Scissors. Michigan can beat Notre Dame theoretically, but couldn't beat SFA, who couldn't beat Notre Dame.

Yeah but ND vs Michigan is a crap shoot because of the history and rivalry. Plus if Michigan gets hot from outside which they have done more than a couple times this year, they could hang with ND. FWIW, I don't think Michigan can or will win tonight.

Yeah, I think the committee doesn't really give a lot of consideration to the 16-1 and 15-2 matchups, and just kind of assumes that if the 1's and 2's can't get out of the first round, that's on them. Or they really do want to see a 16 win. Or something. Who knows what those guys are thinking.

Should have been on Memphis' list. Man can coach that press offense.

So who is the host for next year's 1st & 2nd round games in Tulsa, the AAC? The obvious reason I'm asking is that the "host" school can't play there. I hadn't heard of a conference being the host.

He's going to be on a lot of lists this time around too

He turned down two CUSA schools last year. He will be coaching in a major conference shortly.

Tulsa Sports Commission and The University of Tulsa. I often wondered how OU can play in OKC and Duke and UNC can play in Raleigh but TU can't play in the BOK...

Does SLU go after him? While I think he'll be on OSUs short list, there seems to be overwhelming pressure to bring in an OSU guy and one specifically named Gottlieb. If Underwood holds off a year I expect the Mizzou job to be open, possibly Illinois, Boston College (maybe this year), and potentially a couple of others. Would he even entertain the thought of Tulane or UCF?

How many 3-14 games can Brad Underwood win? He was on TU's short list two years ago.

Did we offer him, I.I.? Two years ago, after his first season as a D1 head coach, I would've considered him a risky hire. Now, with 3 great seasons, he's proved he can win with "his program". Very good coach!

Gottlieb doesn't even get an interview. Underwood will be the next coach in Stillwater. Pretty confident.

Don't think we offered but there was s lot of interest. Some say he is too old but Eddie was older when he came to OSU I bet.

He had only coached one year of D1 ball when we had our opening.

There is some unbelievably good coaching in this tourney. And some unbelievably bad coaching.
And... Walkup is my favorite player of all time!!! (for the moment)

Michigan already hitting at a much better clip than on Wednesday.

St. Joe's is triple teaming Ellis every time he touches the ball and Cincinnati has 2 easy 3's out of it.

Northern Iowa shooting well against Texas.

Dude is growing the classic red playoff beard too

Northern Iowa just had a 7pt possession

UNI up 10 on Longhorns. They're going to ruin the NCAAs conspiracy plan of making Texas and A&M play in the 2nd round

We didn't know how close we were to making a sweet sixteen run. We could have played with ND and SFA.

If those so called experts didn't have something to complain about they would have to kill themselves.

Michigan is 7-14 from 3 in the first half vs. Notre Dame. I'm a little shocked that ND doesn't use Auguste more. He's a beast.
