I agree. There’s got to be someone out there young and aggressive that could take this group of players and put them in position to perform better.

Plus Kevin Wilson has the most punchable face I've ever seen. Dude looks like a pregnant walrus on the sidelines peering fecklessly through his geezer glasses like an accountant.
And his staff literally hates his guts. Almost any TU football staff member would tell you life is miserable under Wilson.
I talked by phone to Justin this week after sending an email. He was very open in his discussion about his thoughts on the importance of success in football. I told him I bit my tongue after the Arkansas St and LA Tech games but couldn’t after the NTSU game. He told me he was surprised that there was not more communication on dissatisfaction about performance from the fan base. I told him there was plenty. He said at A&M any mediocre game performance would have led to a huge number emails and calls. Let him know your thoughts.
But Huffy told me we have better grades!!!!?!?!? That has to count for something? Shouldn’t that mean the other team spots us 2 touchdowns!?
That because he’s an asshole… He doesn’t come off as a great guy to work around during interviews when he’s probably trying to be likable. I can’t imagine when the cameras are off.

He has a link to this board. It is one thing to complain on the board it is another and more impactful to communicate directly. I have had numerous communications with TU AD’s for almost 40 years. Of the recent ones Bubba, Ross, Rick and Justin were very open and willing to listen. Dr Gragg on the other hand was crickets.

I'll take a team chock full of uninitiated reprobates that wins consistently over a team of losers with good grades. I care about wins... This isn't the academic decathlon a la Billy Madison.

Seems like we have to decide if we're willing to fire a coach after 2 years, that's the gating question. If the answer is yes, then KW seems like a darn good candidate. I thought he'd be at least a pretty good coach but so much for that. Too bad we didn't hire the UNLV guy.
You guys do this every week when we just played what is likely the best team on the schedule. This is an incredibly young team but you are condemning an incredibly young team as being not as good as the players on grahams teams, and then condemning them to not be as good as montgomery's players.
Last year was so bad that he brought in as many freshman as he did. Why don't you wait till their sophomore or junior players before you pass judgement on these players.

Because, if they are any good, they will take off for the money...
But I am not down on the team or players. It's not their fault. This is the mismanagement of the administration that caused all this.
Most of those donations paid scholarships across all sports. That means a lot of it is going to pay for other sports scholarships. It is making sure other sports don't have partial scholarships for some players, and instead have full scholarships for most players.
That doesn't take care of nil. Nor does the 8m donation that takes care of equipment upkeep and upgrades iirc.
We didn't lose that many in transfers last year, and i don't think we'll lose that many this year.
People are bitching about a team of mostly underclassmen like they are upperclassmen and should be playing like it to bez compared favorably with montgomerys players.
I can't speak for others, but my view is we haven't seen much improvement on the offensive side. As in, player development. We've seen some of that on the defensive side, but when you combine the youth with bad schemes/play calls they can't adjust - the best example being Army's backs running 70 yards untouched multiple times.
We're young and with a perfectly called game we most likely wouldn't win that one. But even being young we shouldn't be getting blown out by a bad OSU team, North Texas, and Army. Nor should we be getting beat by Ark St.
I'm not a football coach, but whatever is going on with the staff and players isn't good. As others have said all we can do is hope for some adjustments in the bye week and a way easier schedule from here on out.
It's clear that this thing isn't headed in the right direction. The losses we've had and even the win against La Tech was ugly and hard to watch...there should be SOME KIND of improvement week in and week out but I'm not seeing it
Exactly, nobody is thinking we should be like Todd Grahams teams this year , but even rebuilding , we shouldn’t be this freaking bad , the attitude of the team also confirms this isn’t headed in the right direction , there is no fire , and we are extremely undisciplined

Don't completely disagree with some of your points but when you get 52 hung on you by North Texas State then you have to ask what the F%^$ is going on? Something is terribly wrong.

For those that were at the game on Saturday - how was the attitude of the fans in your area?
For me, not only did the team not show any fire or emotion, that attitude also extended into the stands. Fans around me just sat and watched until they got tired of watching and then got up and left. I was up the steps before the last Army guy to run by me made it to the end zone.
Football should be fun and entertaining. This isn’t.
It feels like the end of the blankenship era to me. I am completely apathetic now until a change is made, and that's the worst place to be.
Well, it was very warm temperature wise. The atmosphere with Army team and the production by the Tulsa staff was incredible. The game was good through the middle of the second quarter and then the wheels fell off!
Only because this was Tulsa's first chance to host Army was the overall experience descent to really good. The product on the field was very poor by the second half.

I sit on the east side so most of the fans there on Saturday were pretty happy. The Army fans were all very gracious and friendly. You could tell that many of them were sad that the TU team looked so lost.
The rest of us just sat and groaned, especially after that long swing pass play late in the second quarter. We only tried one "oo-sa-sa-sa" cheer and Army scored their first touchdown pass on the play so that was that. I left in the middle of the third quarter.
TU home games are a great experience. Until kickoff.
Then you best stay on the west side with all the "Bushwoods."
The game was neither fun nor entertaining. Most of the old folks sitting around me looked miserable - and I don’t blame them.
The army fans were nice, and actually very complimentary of the Gameday experience. Which is great to some degree (some said they’d come back to watch another game because they had such a good experience), but woulda been nice to give that good crowd (official attendance was 24,409) a decent game to watch.
I’ll continue to show up and cheer for our guys but you’re right, it’s not fun.
Well when Wilson pulls a Frank Haith and over-hypes his class… that’s the reaction you get.
I mean...the class ranked by services is pretty damn good on paper. Not sure Wilson is an inside spy for recruiting services.
I’m not saying they weren’t ranked highly…. But ranked highly and ready to win football games are not the same thing.
Moreover, the problems we have seen this year have less to do with personnel and more to do with culture and strategy,
