Barnes- 42% FG, 33% from 3, 59% FT, 4.6 RB, 9.3PPG

Archie- 39% (46% last year) FG, 27% from three (37% last year) 58% FT (77% last year) 9.3PPG

Carrington- 35% FG, 34% from 3, 73% FT, 4.8RB, 7.4PPG

Smikle- 54%FG, 49% FT, 5.5RB, 5.5PPG

Amadi- 58% FG, 54% FT, 3.2RB 4.6PPG

Reed- 39%FG, (44% last year), 29% from 3, (same as last year), 71%FT, 2.4RB, 3.5PPG

McWright- 37%FG, 33% from 3 (34% last year) 43% FT ( 86% last year) ! 2.8PPG

Haggerty- Memphis stats are identical to last year at TU except he shot 38% from three compared to 29% here last year.

Archie took a lot more shots this year and started some, maybe that has something to do with it? Tho his FT % dropped a lot, too.
That was why I mentioned Archie as being important to notice, because his % dropped across the board in every area of shooting. That could show signs of more than just taking more shots.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, definitely weird to have your FT% drop by almost 20 percentage points, though he didn't shoot many in either year so it might just be a sample size issue. He's managed through hard work and dedication to become a legitimately terrible FT shoter :)

A part of that is going from starting minutes to hardly any. Archie is definitely a player that has to find his rhythm and with less minutes it was harder to do. Also, makes me think maybe his head has been elsewhere. He has so much potential.
It looks like maybe it's more that he's just hot or cold. He had 7 great shooting games, one good and the rest were pretty dismal. It's hard to tell causation or correlation - did he tend to shoot better when he got more minutes (that's not super clear btw) or because when he was off, Konkol gave him the hook? He reminds me of my college GF, wonderful to be around a third of the time and devil incarnate for the rest.

McWright going from 86% FT to 42% FT is the most amazing stat of all. Also our 2 best freshmen regressed is the biggest question when that is the year they typically improve the most.

LOL, good lord, how is that even possible?

Except for the FT percentage Smikle’s stats are good for a freshman big and you could see him progress throughout the season. He wasn’t a big scoring threat early but really came on later in the season. I hope we can keep him because he has huge potential.

Haggerty has said he had a wrist injury last year that wasn’t disclosed that affected his deep shot.
