2017 Softball continues In Week 3

Tulsa Softball (4-6) travels to Beaumont, Texas and Lake Charles, LA this weekend. The Friday evening game is @ McNeese State in Lake Charles the rest are in Beaumont.

Tournament Schedule
Friday
10 a.m. – Alabama A&M (3-6)
6 p.m. – McNeese State (5-8) including 5-6 and 3-9 to Baylor

Saturday
2:30 p.m. – Northern Illinois (2-2)
7 p.m. – Kansas (7-3) including 2 run rule wins against Savannah State

Sunday
2:45 p.m. – Lamar (2-8) including a 2-8 loss to Baylor

Planning on going to the Lamar game Sunday.

Watson had an outstanding dominating game against Kansas with 15 strikeouts and a win. Need more of that and another pitcher to step up. This is the weakest offensive lineup Tulsa has had in a long time. Most seem to be swinging to just make contact instead of crushing the ball.

Basically same lineup as last yr minus Horner and Edmiston..both who hit in low .200's...

I'd say...last years hitting was only a little bit better but still lacked pop. Escadado has good power but not a good eye. Pitching came on late to play post season.

Overall 8-7

Emily Watson had 25 K on the weekend moving to 9th place in Tulsa career leaders with 305.
Morgan Neal is hitting .463
Julia Hollingsworth is hitting .417
Extra base hits do need to improve and there are a couple of .350+ career hitters that are having a slow start.
Some of that is early numbers and I’m assuming some regression to mean will occur.
