2024-2025 Men's Schedule

If there aren't any unannounced teams in our schedule, then I bet they leave those two days at the beginning of the season open. My guess is they'll try to slot Mississippi Vallley St in one of those three late December dates we have open, so we won't be completely absent of a game from finals, until our first conference game. Sort of a warm up/scrimmage type game, to our conference schedule. If so, then we will open our season with ORU. I don't remember if we have ever opened our season with ORU? That will be a little odd.

Haith's first game as coach was a loss against ORU. Wojcik also kicked the season off at home against ORU one year in which, I swear, neither team scored until like half way through the first half.

And Utah was playing their back up QB. OSU pulled Bowman for a good chunk of the game.

My illusion/delusion is we were their Super Bowl. How else can I explain us allowing Bowman to throw for an 80% completion rate?!?!
I’ll go with because we had no pass rush and our DBs are pedestrian at best. I also didn’t like our game plan of selling out to stop the run at the expense of coverage in the back end

NA

I thought he was the wrong hire. Nothing has happened so far to change my mind.

I think he’s better than Monty because of improvements in off the field stuff but that’s a low bar.

On the positive side the freshman class is the best we’ve had in a long time. And we have a special group of TEs.

Regardless of my disappointment in the hire I think he will be here until at least the end of next season.

Now you have to give me details! Well now that I know, I'LL go back to thinking OSU wasn't that good, and it was mostly us who stunk. Thanks for destroying my illusions & delusions. 😜

TU Men's Soccer Fall 2024

In a nutshell, we are getting punched in the face early. TU is playing their typical style of possessing the ball, building up and creating some chances but they lack a quality pure finisher like they've had the last few years, so they haven't been getting in the board early. Then they get countered and it's usually super quick and against the run of play. I don't know about the Creighton game as I didn't get to watch but against Louisville, MoState, and probably this game, TU had the ball a lot but didn't cash in their chances. And it's usually not 1 but 2 goals they give up early like this and then they dominate possession and chances the rest of the game and usually claw one back but not able to get the 2nd. And atypical of his first 3 seasons, Alex has not been good this year in goal. His confidence and aggressiveness has been his undoing as he has been getting caught off his line a bunch. And the 2nd guy hasn't been great and he's not respected as much as Alex when he has the ball at his feet as teams will press him and TU...with Alex they usually drop back to the middle 1/3 to set up their defense. TU's CBs are OK, but what this team lacks that the teams from 2 and 3 years ago had were dynamic outside backs who could help trigger the attack. The margin is slim right now...I don't believe the team is far off from being a good team and maybe even really good. I think Tom has a couple of forwards who could develop into those pure finishers but they're both true FR.
