Yes. Exactly. Many of those people are gone. Substantive reform buys you time. But it’s a results oriented business. You have to win too. And you have to think about college football in terms of decades and centuries.

Carson has been in the Middle East negotiating educational exchange agreements with an alum who is building the second tallest building in the world. You think he cares right now about whether we go 5-7 and keep who we want on the roster? Probably but it’s not a huge focus. But I would think, I don’t know, that he cares more about TU football being stronger than today 10 years from now and finding and funding people to handle that.

Geez if only there was someone in the school who was responsible for sports teams and revenue generation/sports donations to make it easier for the President to have his attention on other things.

These are excuses. Brad has said he understands that TU athletics is the front door to the University for the vast majority of Tulsa, but we are still not acting like it.

Amazing how our applications increase and the overall level of our applicants rise when we have athletic success. More amazing is how little this small private university is thought about when we are bad at sportsball.

The AD isn't in the middle east and only has one focus. TU again is dropping the ball and every poster here should be pissed.

USMNT New Era

What surprised me was Jedi in central defense. Had to be a Pochettino tweak but it worked fine. He's such a great player he can play anywhere in defense. Never been a fan of Scally and last night wasn't any different. His passes suck...long or short.
Scally was fine last night. I understand what you're saying because his passes, IMO, are too soft. Pass with some pace and purpose. Last night was fine though. Tessman was also good last night. Not great and he certainly isn't Adams.

The US formation almost looked like a 2-4-3-1 last night but the middle 7 all looked interchangeable as they were all over the field. I think the 4th US goal started with a Jedi step in and interception before he dribbled to the outside of the box and slipped the pass wide to Musah who then flipped the cross to Weah.

🏈 Recruiting Some names to keep an eye on

With the early signing period approaching, a couple names to keep an eye on include Deer Creek OL Evan Odom, Jenks LB Sam Stone and Shiloh Christian (formerly Jenks) LB Hudson Ball. TU has a great chance with all three. There are a handful of others in the mix...I'll have a more formal recruiting update coming out soon.

Oru women’s game thread

Which sucks because Nelp was after her hard last year and she chose OSU instead. Apparently that didn't stick. Not only does she have one parent who played at TU, she has 2 as Tony Heard is married to Lila Osceola who played at TU as well.

As for the game, I could only follow the score. Disappointing and some of the other players need to step up and put the ball in the basket.
Different sister. Older sister was on the OSU stat sheet earlier game this year. The younger one switched commitment from Abilene Christian to ORU and is a Freshmen.

Just showed Tony Heard on the broadcast. His daughter apparently plays for Oru. Unfortunately.

5 AAC Coaches already fired during the season

ECU, Rice, Temple, Charlotte & FAU have now fired their head football coach during this season! I don’t recall seeing that many coaches in one conference being fired before the season ended.

For comparison, Tulsa is the lowest rated team in the AAC per the latest Sagarin ratings. This means that all 5 of the schools that fired their coaches would be favored to beat Tulsa on a neutral field.

USMNT New Era

US leads Jamaica 3-0 (4-0 agg) in leg 2 of the Nations League quarterfinals. Pulisic with 2 goals and Pepi with the third. The US has thoroughly dominated this game. Probably 75% possession and what the US is doing with movement is insane tonight. And I can't tell you what formation the US is playing. It's a blob really and the only 2 really defined roles are Ream and Richards at the CB spots. Jedi is playing a hybrid 6/8 role tonight but dropping into his left FB role when he needs to defend. I think Jamaica has a shot on goal but it's from 35 yards and not a tester at all. And the US could legit have 5 goals tonight. One of the better all around performances I've seen from this group in a long time. Passing has been crisp and on target and on time. Pulisic and Weah have been weaving in and out so much they look like the Harlem Globetrotters.

And Pulisic's first goal was world class. Not sure who put the service in for him, maybe Musah, but Pulisic half volleyed it into the goal past Blake who was spewing out to challenge.
