I heard about the 11’s, but I agree with the decision not to go.

On the one hand, it’s a bummer because there are a few little sisters that went to watch their big sister play at the phx showcase and it was finally their turn.

On the other: it’s a pointless event that costs a lot of money for the 12s and 11s.

It sucks that they worked all season to not finish what they started.

I don't disagree, but nothing has changed for the boys at this point.

For blitz, it is just a change of management. Maybe that leads to something better, but right now, it is nothing.
Without a better platform, FC Academy will struggle. Hard to sell a pathway to the pros when you’re playing in the Frontier league. Guess the transfer of ECNL from TSC boys fell through?

I don’t think it fell through, but I would wait and see how many NL boys are at the upcoming ID camps.

So the derecho/haboob/apocalypse of wind, dust, and smoke hasn't stopped. It's brutal. My game got postponed. Union and BA still played but Union had a power issue because the lights never came on and the scoreboard wasn't working.

Union won 3-2 in PKs. BA scored twice in the 1st half, Union scored twice in the second half (and probably should have added a 3rd and maybe even a 4th). Not coincidentally all the goals were scored by the team who had the wind.

Honest assessment, BA is better technically and does a better job of possessing the ball and connecting passes. On a night without this wind, I think BA is probably winning 3 out of 5 games. Union creates havoc. They press pretty relentlessly and the forced BA to panic and lose the ball in some really dangerous places. BAs goals came off of turnovers from 1 CB in particular. He just doesn't see the field well...and he also got lost on the 2nd goal and allowed a BA player to split him and the other CB. Both GKs actually played pretty well. It was a tough game for the GKs. And I don't think either team is comfortable playing out of the back with their GKs as an option to help relieve pressure.

Union added a player today. He wasn't going to play this year and play golf instead. Was an ECNL player at TSC but got burned out. Decided he was missing soccer and decided to come back. He will make a difference for Union and they might be in the mix now. They're better than I was anticipating. Still need to be better finishing as they could have won this game 4-2 with the chances they generated in the 2nd half.

Overheard some Blitz parents talking today about "If Jake (Simpson) stays..."

So it seems like they don't know what Blitz coaching staff is going to be doing with this whole partnership? IDK.
