B) I couldn't disagree more about this. We need more players as referees.
We'll disagree on this. I don't care if the person was a player or not, they need to understand how to manage a game from a referee's perspective. Almost anyone can learn the laws of the game and be able to apply them in a black and white manner...but we all know the game is not static nor black or white EVER. You need people who have a passion for the game and who want to make sure it's conducted in a fair and safe manner.

And I will say, my son calls games in a different manner than I do. Of course he played, fairly high level and HS from the age of 6 on. He does call games from a player's perspective. He and I disagreed on the controversial Arsenal RC a few weeks back where the Arsenal player caught a player on his ankle with the studs. He said it lacked the force necessary to be considered SFP. I understood the referee's perspective in real time and couldn't see anything on replay that VAR could deem a clear and obvious error.

What I will agree with you on is there are people who referee for the paycheck and you can tell. They don't need to be out there.

Eric loves the 13’s. All of my daughters love Eric. He’s always been kind and encouraging to them. Even my youngest, who doesn’t currently play, loves Eric.
Eric’s daughter went down during Jenk’s scrimmage this past weekend. Heard it didn’t look good. Anyone have any updates? Hoping it wasn’t an ACL

Yeah, you are referencing the Miles Lewis Skelly red card against Wolverhampton. It was a total and utter dook. There was zero endangering the safety of the player or excessive force. None. Nil. Zero. We are almost at a no-yellow. It was ridiculous.

It was 100% a yellow, if not for a reckless foul, but being a technical foul that stopped a promising attack. There's no question about it being at the very least a yellow card. And the serious foul play can be debated. He caught him with studs higher than the top of the boot so it's always going to be in line for serious foul play and the only question is whether or not it meets the excessive force criteria. They showed a still photo at the moment of contact and he caught him just above the ankle with the studs.

It doesn't matter, the EPL wiped it out. Arsenal still had to play a man down for the rest of that match but he didn't face any additional suspension. But he will this week. MLS got slapped with a DOGSO red in their match on Saturday vs West Ham.

I didn't hear anything. I did a couple MS games at Regent Prep last night. Not the greatest soccer but also not the absolute worst. Being part of a 2 man crew is weird...both refs have whistles and you're trying to make sure you're not stepping on his toes with foul calls.

There is a player at Glenpool who was easily the best player on the field last night. As Jerry Tarkanian proclaimed about a certain PG at TU "I could bake a cake with him." Unfortunately for Glenpool they didn't have much else to help him.

Tonight I'm on the whistle for Memorial at Coweta (girls) and an AR for the boys fixture.
