Youth soccer club

I can't imagine this being a possibility. GA wants to grow, TSC can say "Top division or nothing". TSC gives GA a foothold in Oklahoma, which allows them to probably sell GA to Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, etc.

TSC can definitely say "We have put x amount of players into d1 schools. NL doesn't change our development ability / path, etc."
You also need to understand all the bridges TSC has burned along the way. Tina seems to have a lot of power within GA, I can definitely see this being the only option given to them.

In my experience with Tina, of which there is much, she has never given me the indication that she has a petty bone in her body. She really cares about what’s best for these kids. I don’t see her trying to do something that would hurt the chances for all these girls and young women to go on to the “next level”.

I agree with that to an extent, her feelings may be those same things can be accomplished at another club.

Maybe…but I just don’t see that being the case. You’d be hard pressed to find a girl at TSC that is a 12 or older who hasn’t had Tina impact their lives in one way or another. I just don’t see her “punishing” those players because of what TSC allegedly did

My youngest is asking to play soccer again…and I’m inclined to let her. She able to focus / follow directions better now.

I really just want her to spend a year playing futsal. No outdoor stuff, no tournaments, just futsal. Train and play futsal.

But there’s no real place to do that. No futsal club. No program anywhere like JM / Joao used to do back at TSC.

That really sucks.

How old is your youngest and why are you focusing solely on Futsal?

6.

1. Its indoors
2. I feel that Futsal is a great way to train technical skills and decision making and playing speed.
3. It’s indoors lol

The main thing is: I don’t want to subject her to traveling for games too soon. If I could go back and do it all over, I’d have taken my oldest to futsal earlier, when club soccer first began for her. She was the same age that my youngest is now.

My daughter was never a fan of futsal so doing PT with JM achieved the technical part she would have seen at Futsal.

I had the same thoughts on both questions. Even back in the TSC futsal heyday, futsal trainings were rather limited in both numbers and time of the year.

If it were me, I would see if I could get her in a training group with JM or another highly technical trainer who emphasizes technical ability. I would also keep her training and playing 4v4 for as long as possible. Nothing like small side for volume of touches.

Example 101 of why TSC girls failed. There were 850 ECNL girls from across the country participating as 2010s in the Dallas Showcase this past weekend. Of those 850 players there were 25 chosen as elite performers. Of those 25, two reside in Tulsa. Neither have played for TSC in several years.

ECNL makes it official

That’s really the best path, but I think I’ve stated before that while I appreciate JM’s ability, I don’t love his personality all the time.

Futsal is good to an extent. It is a different game. I do like it a lot. It is hard to just straight-out physical players.

There is no official-sized futsal court here. It would be cool if a place would build a couple. It actually could probably be done for not that much. They are a little bit bigger than a basketball court, and the flooring isn't that expensive compared to soccer turf, so you don't need the wall dynamic.

At a young age, you need to play soccer. Lots of it. They can do many things just by watching YouTube and Instagram videos and trying to make their moves. The massive amounts of videos out there is insane.

I have a young child who is roughly the same age as your daughter. For me, It has to be in this order for him.

1. Fun
2. Development
3. Competitive games

Fun affects development; development won't happen without competitive games. If you are getting trounced or constantly trouncing teams, those will help you. Development can occur through training and competitive games. You need to be put at the appropriate level, which is somewhat challenging but not disheartening.

If it isn't fun at their age, they will lose interest and want to do other things.

Not all kids are wired the same way through their competitiveness, interest, confidence, anxiety, etc. That doesn't mean it won't get there.

For young players (4-6), I’ve often wondered if you would be better off taking the money you would pay a club and putting it toward private or group trainings with a quality technical coach. Then transitioning to club at the 7v7 or 9v9 age. I know my kid got much more out of private or small group then club at those ages. Just more touches and more 1v1 instruction

When she was younger, she didn’t like being hot. Now that she’s a bit older and asking about it, I think it makes sense to try again. I just gotta find the right program.

Im really thinking about taking her to Samba and then letting her play at metro for fun or something for a bit.

Big News on the Tulsa area soccer front. A Tulsa club was just awarded MLS Next. Waiting for info on which club

I have no idea what I’m talking about btw. I just threw that name out because it struck me as the least likely.

But who is it

The club will make the announcement. Not going to piss the soccer community off

Someone should probably check on Barry

I would assume he is moving to Titan. Working with FC Tulsa. That a great fit
Not sure FC Tulsa is a great fit with Michael Nsien. I have no info on that front though.

Life lesson to our younger posters…don’t burn bridges. You never know when it might come back and bite you in the a$$

All these new platforms have to play someplace. Is Mohawk about to be busy?
Do you believe this realignment will result in more games? I assumed the number of games would stay relatively constant since we haven’t added net players. Just shuffled them to other clubs.
