We are in a recruiting “dead period” until Monday. No contact with recruits and in person visits. I expect we’ll see more offers and visits starting next week. I think Coach Lamb said he’s looking at bringing in 20-25 transfers. We have 9 transfers signed or committed now. So we can expect 11-16 more in the coming weeks.
That leaves us with around 10 open scholarships even at the old count of 85 if you figure he takes 13 or 14 additional transfers. He must be looking to pick up a decent amount of freshmen in February.
I'm sure they have an estimate of yield by position to estimate how many people to offer, and they have the new GM in charge of managing recruiting, I doubt this will be an issue. TBD with any first year coach on whether he gets the right guys but I'm sure they are on top of the number of offers they need to make.
We've signed 17 from the portal so far, which is 20% of the team based on the old scholarship limits. That doesn't feel like a staff that hasn't been aggressive with revitalizing the team.

Anybody that says anything negative about the football program is in your dog house and anybody that says anything the least bit positive about the basketball team is also in your dog house. You live in a Black & White world in which you define what is Black & White. Most of us live in a world of gray. What Oak75 was a little silly, and overly negative for how early it was, but he is a decent poster, and it is juvenile to jump on him so quickly. Besides he just admitted how he was being overly negative, and you jump on here almost a week later to label it and/or him dumb. No reason for this.

I thought Doug’s NY resolution was to be nicer and more tolerant. He almost made it 10 days. Quite the accomplishment! Maybe next year, he can turn things up a notch and shoot for January 12th.
