Thought this was interesting. The new coach at my local school has raised more NIL in a few weeks than the old coach in a year, he views filling the NIL coffers as his job. The Niko guy was at Colorado State before this and was successful at that level. Probably a big part of why they hired him. Same fundraising by the staff is going on in football. I wonder how good our coaches are at this?

"Niko and his staff have been incredibly active in fundraising since the moment they arrived,” Burns said. “There hasn’t been one day when they haven’t engaged in some fundraising activity. That’s absolutely encouraging. But more than that, they’re willing to embrace the reality of college sports right now.” "

Confirmed: Ben Johnson was the NIL Problem for Gophers Men’s Basketball

If the coach wants success, he better take some responsibility.

I think you've hit the nail on the head.

I don't like that it's part of his responsibility. He should just be responsible for coaching. But if he doesn't take responsibility the competition will. The coach has too many jobs these days. I'd rather he focus more on coaching.
