which brings me to the O-Line - it has by far been the worst O-line we’ve had in over a decade going back to Keith Burns time. Which brings me to the main question - would we have been better off playing the more mobile Boomer all year if we can’t give Smith enough time to throw deep passes for an entire game. I don’t remember the last time we had so many passing yards with so little air under those completed passes. Maybe once under Kragthorpe when the Bugg bubble screens were considered “an extension of the run game” or when we just flat didn’t have a QB post Dane Evans/Key Garrett.

It should be noted that Houston has an elite defensive line but normally we win with a QB of Smith’s level when we hold Houston to 24 points. If I’d known that before the game I’d thought “I’ll take it that means we probably win.”

On the bright side Smith wasn’t visibly injured though his decision making was shaky on the picks especially the pick 6.

Thoughts welcome.
