Worst thing about this losing streak? Having to listen to bigzit and Atson whine about their respective talking points adnausem.
How can our worst shooter continue to take at least 10 shots a game???
I remember when Uzoh would only take 6-7 a game and drive us all crazy. This is much worse.
We just don't have any true scorers. Guys get hot every now and then for a short period but no one who we can count on for 15+ a game.
The good news is that the year is almost over. I think it's time to play some of the bench players and see if we want to keep them next year.
At least the wine takes the edge off.
This is bad basketball at its finest.
I'll never give up hope on a year until the conference tourney is over, but Jeffries replaces Birt, and Joiner takes over
Again I have to disagree. I think Igbanu and Magnay will be big time players. I also still have high hopes for Korita. Also Taplin is still a sophomore with his best games ahead of him.The sad thing is outside Etou and Edogi all the players were recruited by Haith. When I look at this team aside from Etou how many of these players would have been recruited by Nolan, Tubby, or Bill. There in lies our problem... Buzzard, JP, Woj, and now Haith have all recruited down and not up from TU's best coaches. Heck most of these players would not have been recruited by Joe Swank or Kenny Hays.
Nevada I lean more in your direction. I see pieces but the have not developed the way one would hope. Thus the coaching is worrying.Again I have to disagree. My wine tonight is bad, so I resorted to chugging. One bottle later, don't even care we played so poorly.
I'm just here waiting for WATU to realize this is a Tulsa sports message board and not a political forum.
We got some fools gold the first half of the year. This was always destined to be a .500 year. Still stinks but...
Haith is struggling because of the inconsistency of the players. The last 2-3 games have all been experiments in trying to find combos and players that are working. I don't know what has happened to Birt. At this point I think it is 95% mental and he is seriously doubting himself. A decent to good shooter doesn't change form from shot to shot hoping to get close. Birt's misses are all over the place and his last 3 last night were all air balls. At least I feel Korita's shots are all on line, they're just a smidge short or a smidge long. You can't fix a shooter who can't release it consistently because you have no idea where to start the corrections.I hope you guys are right. However, currently I am not seeing the development I was hoping to see. Maybe that might be because I think Haith is struggling as much or more than the players.
I feel like a broken record here but Curran Scott will be a huge shooting improvement over Birt. He shot +40% from 3 as a freshman last year and was a scorer.
