Tulsa Softball Post Season 2015

[Tax Guy]

The American Conference Tourney is a single elimination format and starts on Thursday. UCF as the number one seed gets the first round bye. The schedule ends up looking like this:

The NCAA tournament Selection show is 5/10. There are 64 teams selected 32 automatic bids 1 from each conference and 32 at-large bids. The American Conference auto bid goes to the Conference Tournament winner. Tulsa’s RPI ended up at 76.

Almost all of Tulsa offense came in the 5th.

Jodi Edmiston singled advanced to third on Maggie Withee and scored on Erica Sampson’s Sac Fly.

Caitlin Sill pitch the complete game shutout with 2 hits, 0 BB and 4 K.

Houston had 5 hits 2 errors and 7 LOB
Tulsa had 9 hits and 1 error and 5 LOB

Erica Sampson was 2 for 4 scored once
Maddie Withee was 2 for 3 with an RBI
Jocelyn Sheffield was 1 for 3 with a double scored twice and 2 RBI

Bailey Erwin pitched the complete game giving up 2 ER on 5 hits 1 BB and 4 K

Tulsa got behind early. Bailey may have been a little tight early but got stronger as the game went on and the offense was able to come back and tie it up taking advantage and scoring a couple of unearned runs in the 4th. Then in the 5th batted around scoring 3 more on a string of base hits. 4 infield hits and only one to the outfield.

Caitlin Sill pitched the complete game giving up 1 ER on 6 hits 1 BB and 1 K

Caitlin pitched a great game, just the bats were unable to manufacture a run against a pitcher ranked in the top 5 all season, (That gets 2 to 3 inches off the plate outside #sourgrapes)

With that being said, Caitlin Sill, Maddie Withee, Jodi Edmiston and Jocelyn Sheffield were named to the @American_SBall Championship All-Tournament Team

Solid season ending at 36-18 overall.
