Getting out of town without giving up a highlight reel play to Perine that we have to endure for the next two or three years will be a win. I cannot tell you how frustrating it was having almost won that 2005 game, but then being subjected to the highlight of Peterson running over Karatepeyan for the next two seasons. The 70 point O/U plus the OU favored by 30 suggests Vegas like OU 50-20, which sounds about right to me. Holding OU below 50 and TU hitting 20 is a good result, assuming TU emerges healthy.
Yeah, Stoops isn't stupid and we aren't either. Those comments have nothing to do with Tulsa football. He knows Monty will be coaching in the Big 12 in 3 season or less. If he wins, as a head coach. If he loses, as an asst. Self serving comments from Stoops that gives the media something to print. Nothing more.Stoops gave your team and coaches Montgomery and Young major props in his Monday presser today.
Here's to an injury free, well called game.
You got that right. Jeez. I know the guy is getting old, but he either needs to get in shape, get some surgery to get those removed, or wear different shirts. The Nike Dri-Fit polo and wrinkled polo khakis look is a mess right now. He's got better things to worry about right now, like saving his job, but looking like Joey Butafucco circa 1992 needs to end.Big Game Boob.
Plenty of TU coaches have moved the ball against OU. That's not the problem. Very very few have stopped OU from moving the ball. The times we have won or kept it interesting, it was typically (but not always) OU stopping themselves. We should have won that effing 83 game. That still upsets me. They had better talent, but we consistently won at the point of attack on both sides of the ball when it mattered.OU's offensive line is hurting, lost best lineman in Ty Darlington Saturday, and now second best, Nila Kasitati, appears to be hobbled. Phillip Montgomery has had amazing success against the mighty Sooners, Kelly Hines laid out Montgomery's success against Oklahoma this morning, from 2014 through 2007, Baylor won 48-14 2014, 41-12 2013, 34-42 L 2012, 45-38 2011, 24-53 L 2010, 7-33 L 2009, 17-49 L 2008, and 21-52 L in 2007 No question in my mind that Tulsa will go up and down the field on these guys, it all starts at the top, not saying Tulsa will keep OU under 40, but Tulsa will move the ball. Update: Both Darlington and Kasitati expected to practice today, good for them.
in my experience my dad and i sat together an just cheered. i guess if i wear the right cloths we'd been good but when you're 22 polos and khakis aren't viewed as cool attire. i agree arky was always a rough atmosphere for us.If you sit alone in the middle of the OU section and act stupid, then you should expect problems. I never had any trouble getting in and out of the stadium to the TU section. Maybe because I am getting older and I tend to dress in a TU polo, khakis, and nice shoes for the game, but most OU fans ignore me. The ones that engage me usually ask about: 1.) Our future schedule. 2) Do you think ____insert player on TU's team___ could make the OU roster? 3) Why are you a fan for such a small team/Why doesnt Tulsa drop football? Usually a husband and wife will come up, typically from rural Oklahoma, and make small talk that reveals that they are in awe that your family could afford TU and they hope their kid has a chance to go there. I've never really seen the drunken boorish behavior in Norman that you get at Texas game, LSU, Georgia, or others. Its nothing compared to some of the things I've endured as TU fan in Houston, Dallas, Stillwater, and FayetteNam. It is light years from a USA/Mexico soccer game.

We could finish in front of 3 Big XII teams this year playing in that conference, Tejas, Kansas, and Iowa State...maybe in front of a 4th in Texas Tech. Texas is an absolute dumpster fire of an athletic program right now...Patterson killed it and not in a good way. If Texas loses their next couple of games, they're going to struggle to find 4 wins this season.I would rather be playing Texas this year.
I have never had any problems going to an OU game either and I have sat in the middle of the OU section the past couple of years with my son. For the most part they tend to feel sorry for Tulsa. Our little fan base, our players passed over by OU out of high school, do we have any players that could play for OU now or not, should TU focus on basketball and how they pull for TU but they don't know anything about us.
I will be sitting once again I the middle of the OU section decked out in Blue. I will report back my experience after the game.
Houston ... I'll save that story for the Houston game week.
I sat in the club level right behind Blake Bell's family and a bunch of oilmen. Everyone was very cordial. Of course I didn't act like an arse around these nice folks. But I did wear my TU gear and cheer for my golden hurricane. The hail Mary to end the half took the air out of the crowd. These folks were miserable at halftime. Overall, had a very pleasant experience. Probably due to the fact that I was sitting among the more well-healed sooner fans.Once again I didn't have any problems with in Norman and I was sitting in the middle of OU season ticket holders.

Because of my GF's season tics, we had a great parking spot near the stadium. But man, it took nearly 45 minutes to get out of the parking lot after the game. Its hard to move 85,000 people.Tulsa was in this game down to 1:00 left on the clock in the 4th. Maybe you were thinking what I was thinking when Sooner fans started leaving. FOOLS! I envisioned a repeat of what you mentioned above before the half. You guys have a tough team and a great QB. Hope you win your conference.
