Kudos to former M/F Tony Rocha. He has looked impressive with Orlando City's B squad in USL competition. It has earned him a second short term call up to the full MLS squad for US Open Cup duty. He played really well tonight. Starting at forward and going 75 minutes. Good chemistry at times -- which is a surprise given his new role with the squad. He set up Shea nicely ... who prompted skied it.

I'm kinda curious why the "Roughnecks" didn't bring him in. At 2-10-2, it seems like Roughnecks/Drillers mgmt might want to try something, anything. But then again, they don't know what the hell they're doing when it comes to the actual soccer side of things. And then signing a Tulsa Athletic would be acknowledging that the semi-pro team down the street actually exists.

Reno is getting a USL franchise, they are calling it 1861 (or something like that for Reno's founding date). What is the level of play in this league?

It is roughly the equivalent of AAA or good AA in baseball. Most of the teams are owned by, or have relationships with, MLS players. Tony plays on Orlando's USL team and was just called up to the MLS squad.

Tony is becoming a regular sub. He played tough for about 30 minutes last night on national tv.
