Hope you feelings aren't hurt too bad. Sorry if you are mad. Well, "sorry" is strong. I'm just "sor."

It's hard to win when you only play seven guys.

Also, we live in America and I didn't say anything bad. You should hear me at our home games. I don't say anything bad (except to the Cincinnati coach and one ref). Just way louder.

Maybe you should try running or cooking to work on that stress.

Again, sor. Good luck and God bless.

There are probably a lot of butt hurt ORU fans, if you know what I mean.

And also their 'cheerleaders' judging by what I saw on their junior high broadcast channel.

I don't think they are gay, brau. That's against the student code of conduct. They have mini upstanding students.

My fav was the commercial that we show love by respecting our opponents, followed by the student section chanting TU sucks. I hope Gragg heard that - he should have since I could 3 rows behind him.

Yeah, they always do that. I should have chanted that back at them. I was too busy felling sor for Mr. and Mrs. Butt Hurt.

Why does it matter if Gragg heard that? What would he do? Go to some more meetings? Not be that visible? We aren't going to quit playing them. Just understand they will do stupid things every year. At least they didn't send a player into our huddle or pray to win.

Right. I don't know if little people can get in ORU. Aren't they exempt from the ADA? Not saying it's a disability or anything. I'm just channeling my inner TU BLA.

No, they are not exempt as they receive federal dollars in terms of scholarships, grants, aids, etc... Back in the 70's they were forced to make all their restroom facilities handicap accessible. The case was filed by a TU law student that was a graduate of ORU.

You don't say? Are you aware of any ORU policies that comply with the ADA? What happens when a student makes a grievance? Where can I find the policy?

Gold stop. Yes, ORU complies with ADA as required by law. If you want I can walk you through the process step by step as sometimes it affects my area of supervision.

I will stop but there's a point to my humor I will not get into.

Well, the English professor did pray for the "best team to win." I assumed she thought that was ORU, but her prayer was answered providentially in any event.

I get there is an outside perception of ORU that a lot of people hold, and I probably held some of them as well until I started working here. Once you get past the insane architecture (which makes my job difficult sometimes), the people here are genuine, they give a lot of themselves to others, and the students are like many other students on other campuses who struggle with the same adult transition issues. BTW, having worked at both Baylor and ORU (and TU), Baylor's priorities while having a similar student code, is jacked up, far worse than ORU's and not just because of what has happened in the past 2-3 years.

Yeah, for the record...I cringed when she said that last night.

Not a fan of praying for a win at a sporting event. Or, even hinting at it. Not a good look.

BLA,

I know ORU has great people working for it and great students. I often work with a number of alumni and some are good friends of mine. I've seen some things that I really question though. You know enough about me to figure out enough of the rest.

And the ADA thing is an historical embarrassment. I'm sure the school moved on from the crazy position it took, but it's sort of like the changes in the Mormon faith in 1978.

From the inside, things have been eased a lot even in the time I've been here. I can't attest to any of the ADA stuff before I got here, but I know the university is working hard to accommodate (and address) all of the concerns and issues that are brought up.

ORUvoice, I cringed for her as well. I think she had not scripted out her prayer and fell back on a 50s trope.

I don't think the school or ministry are all bad, but if you learn about the history of both, the Discimination thing in the 70's against the disabled is completely bizarre. Why not faith heal them? Oh.
