We’ve had a couple of great examples of how important line play is the last couple of days. Boise State and Oregon both have great skill players but they just couldn’t block the Penn State and Ohio State linemen on offense and couldn’t get past them on defense. It’s great to have the flashy receivers, runners and QBs but the big uglys can make you or break you.

True on this. Oregon started having more success moving Gabriel out of the pocket on rollouts, but too little too late. OSUs OL was also outstanding as Howard never seemed to be under much pressure and Judkins was able to rip off 5-6 yards on a lot of his running plays. Also, IMO, there seemed to be a big discrepancy in team speed between OSU and Oregon. I think the game vs Texas next week is going to be low scoring and a defensive battle. And Texas better have Arch Manning ready to go because I think Ewers is fragile and might not finish that game.

Football success begins with quality line play , skill positions get all the notoriety and most of the blame but
it's the plow horses up front that makes the engine go . Hated to see Carpenter and Tanner opt out since I
had hope for vast improvement of those two lads ....hopefully Lamb can bring the right ingredients to
improve TU's fortunes .
