OK..The board is really dead so this thread which will be repeated seven times in the next 6 months probably needs another round now . I will start with my five starters if I had to choose TODAY. I may change with time.

Taplin
Birt
TK
Etou
Wheeler

But lots of playing time for many more good players. You never know who is going to be the gamer.

Have summer classes started?
Did everyone show up?
I have heard that everyone is there in summer classes except Magnay who will come for second session this summer.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe one of thefreshmen slips ahead of Wheeler or maybe Artison
is really good and starts.

Both are really good thoughts.....Andy Stoglin always said "Give me two tough guys and three
shooters"....That's what this team would be....We would need good passing back out of the
post to enhance what our shooters can do....Artison, when in for TK or Etou would add a
fourth shooter and a good floor runner....

You would think off the top that Henderson, Battle, and Taplin (possibly in reverse order)
might be vying for the same minutes with Henderson and maybe Battle spilling over into
the two guard position.....

This summer's scrimmages promise to be something.....I assume they have already
started...

It's nice to have Birt who doubles as a tough guy and a shooter.

Hopefully an increase in PT will give Taplin a boost this year, but based on last season I'd say he'd be better as a backup PG 6th man type. Battle looks more like the PG's Haith has had run the starting PG role in the past.

I think everyone's forgotten about guys like Korita and Atson. Both of those guys look to be gritty shooters who are deceptively athletic. My dream lineup would be one where Battle, Atson, Birt, TK, and Magnay all panned out and lived up to their potential. That team could destroy people on both sides of the court if it played together correctly.

I've always said you don't sign a JUCO unless they have the potential to start by their second semester. Tony Heard and Pat Birt both bloomed after January their Junior year. The Henderson/ Wheeler battle for that other guard spot should be great and one will probably start. Artison is a stretch 4 which we rarely see at Tulsa. He is just a soph with an Achilles last year so I expect he will be brought along slowly.

TK and Taplin should make the biggest strides IMHO. If they don't we are in trouble. Inside SKILLED moves like we used to see from Anthony Price (though not much else), are still something we desperately need and I am not sure where they come from unless Etoh and TK develop them.

Not sure where our shot blocking will come from yet. Every winning team usually has that swatter. Cincy, UCONN, SMU, Memphis......... Maybe Magnay as he develops (he is just 17) will be the answer.

With TK's improved vertical. he might be a candidate for a swatter.
