Spring Football: TU Defense shows balance and progress

Jesse Brubaker looked like a man among boys at times on Saturday afternoon. But playing against the second string isn’t exactly fair, since Brubaker was pretty darn good last year against opponents’ first teams.

Brubaker, a 6-foot-3, 270-pound senior defensive end, recorded three sacks in the annual Tulsa Spring Game at H.A. Chapman Stadium on Saturday as the number one defense almost completely shut out the second team offense, allowing only a field goal.

The TU defense appears to be more balanced, aided by talented youngsters...
