4-0 with wins over Norfolk, ORU, DePaul, and Hofstra.

Coached by Frank Martin in his 4th season from Kansas State. This looks like his best South Carolina team to date. Martin's teams have always been aggressive on the offensive glass (ranking top 15 nationally in OReb% every year except last year) and this season they're rebounding nearly half their misses.

Defensively, they're willing to collapse on drivers and concede the open 3. Hofstra was able to nail 17 threes, but they were destroyed on the glass.

The key will be securing defensive rebounds and creating quick transition baskets off those rebounds. In the halfcourt we'll need to drive and kick and be hot from deep. This would be a good game for Woodard to get going.

KenPom says 74-73 USC (east).

We have to get their big men in foul trouble. Especially that 7 footer. I would have guys take it right at him a couple of times to see if they can draw the foul.

Will take our best shooting night. And defensive rebounds are crucial.

If we pull our normal rotation and go down double digits, we're doomed.

I still don't have faith in our outside shooting, and our drives are somewhat mitigated by our horrible free throw shooting.

I do not have a warm and fuzzy feeling going in to this game. Maybe just a Woj hangover still lingering?

We've shot free throws well in 3/4 games, stop the negativity.

The hangover should have disappeared after the wichita game, but whatever.

I expect TU to play with more determination and effort simply because of the SEC name on the jersey.

That's what I think happens as well. I'm just hoping Wright and Swannegan stay out of foul trouble and we come out aggressive on offense to get their bigs into foul trouble early.

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- South Carolina coach Frank Martin preached to his team they were going to need to pound the ball inside to find success against Oral Roberts.

It took a half but it finally started clicking. Senior Laimonas Chatkevicius had a career-high 27 points and Duane Noticed chipped in 18 as South Carolina withstood 31 points from Obi Emegano to defeat Oral Roberts 84-66 Monday night.

"We settled, got off the dribble jump shots at the beginning of the game and that's exactly what we said not to do," Martin said. "Get the ball inside to start the game is all we talked about. But we settled down and the second half we really, really got that thing inside."

Hey II you probably shouldn't even watch since you don't think we really have a chance.

Also, why do we care if they beat ORU?

Sorry you don't understand why I posted this... Many of our readers don't even know about Chatkevicus and it was informational. They may don't know this either... Not sure what about this posting made you think we don't have a chance. lol

You're talking to the wall.

Again, pretty sure our team is scouting this guy and knows his capabilities, but sorry, I'm not taking the time to read this entire post.

Then you're missing out soccrcubs. II along with ctt are our best bball posters. When it comes to bball, they are both usually spot on. But you can quit posting if want to.
