WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS
With the addition of Navy, the American Athletic Conference finally holds a solid 12-team lineup. Navy had been a football independent for 134 years. The addition of Navy allows the league to divide into two divisions. Cincinnati and Memphis look to run ahead of the pack with loaded offenses but still have question marks on defense. Cincinnati allowed 27.2 points per game last season, while Memphis returns three starters on a unit that held opponents to 19.5 points per game. Tom Herman, an accomplished offensive coordinator at Ohio State, takes over at Houston.

FOUR PLAYERS TO WATCH

Dane Evans, Tulsa, QB: Averaged 258.5 passing yards in 2014 and now has former Baylor offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery as a head coach.

Keenan Reynolds, Navy QB: Ranks first in NCAA history with 64 rushing touchdowns.

Gunner Kiel, Cincinnati, QB: Returns top seven receivers after tying school record with 31 touchdown passes in 2014.

Jake Elliot, Memphis, K: Made the Tigers bowl eligible with a game-winning field goal against Temple and kicked a 54-yard in overtime in the win over BYU.

Oct. 31: Central Florida at Cincinnati
Nov. 28: Navy at Houston

PREDICTED FINISH:
