(Edit: for some dumb reason you can't edit thread titles on rivals, but it's UH @ SMU FWIW)

SMU up 21-0 with 9 minutes to play in the first half

When you're a top tier Big XII team like Houston that's destined for the playoffs, you don't need to prepare for lightweight AAC teams. Seems like their press clippings have gone to their heads.

SMU is going to choke this away....they can't finish. This Houston team lets the ranking beside their name go to their heads. They pretty much expect teams to roll over for them.

And the crowd at SMU is pretty pathetic...

well coach hermie may have to kiss his player's asses if he wants to pull this one out.....goooooo ponies....nuke em!!!!!

So a Houston win gives the AAC continued hope for the new year's day bowl, an SMU win puts us into a position to compete for the west.

As I type this SMU sacks Ward on fourth down and already in field goal range.

Houston has a lot of injuries. They aren't deep enough this year to handle that many injuries. They were closer to full strength against us, but our game and the SMU game took their toll. We've got a real chance to compete for a Temple championship game no matter what the result of the SMU game is.

Go SMU! They win, we win out and we will host the AAC Championship as things stand right now

We control our own destiny now. Keep winning and we win the west.

Wow. SMU looks like they're going to hold on. Too bad we didn't get Houston next week. Half their team is banged up including Ward and their OL has some major injuries that are causing missed games. Navy basically showed everyone how to play against Ward and that is rushers need to stay true to rush lanes and keep Ward in the pocket. He's been sacked like 6 times tonight.

Coug High, how's it feel looking up at us?

That's game, SMU brought blitz packages that were perfectly drawn up to corral Ward. this won't be their last loss of the season when everyone watches this film.

Wow.
Really, really bad day for the conference.

Even a UH team with injuries should've won today.
SMU was a team on a mission and UH was, like was said above, a #11 ranked Big 12 team that didn't take an AAC cellar dweller seriously.

USF losing was bad and UCF winning was bad. Only Navy took care of business today from a national perspective.

I'm not sure we did given the amount of points give up in the 2nd half.

We took care of bidness just fine and the Houston outcome was great for us. Now let's beat Memphis.

Poor kittys! repeat and rinse the kittys
strange things happen at SMU at night (we should know)
TU must now focus on a beatable Memphis team - line should be MU by 7
then a struggling ECU team at home before a potential championship game in Annapolis.
Reflect Navy lost by 14 at Air Force, which lost today at home to Hawaii, which never wins on the mainland
Getting a taste of Tulane's option game was helpful for the TU defense
I just wish TU knew how to play with a huge lead - that will come with time

What's a MU? Marshall maybe...

They didn't just beat them, they handled them easily. SMU looked like a real good team when we squeaked past them at home. I had my fingers crossed they'd play Houston just as hard as they played us. Good for them. Now we have a chance to win the west in the American which would be beautiful.

Per Sagarin, the line should be Memphis -8.5. Since we're trending up, I'll agree Memphis -7 is the likely opening line. This is a very tough but winnable game. Memphis has a very good team. We'll have to play our best to have a chance to win.
