SIXTH ANNUAL BRACKET CHALLENGE

Weird Abe Anderson used to post here all the time. He was the head of Lamar University field maintenance. He used to draw the lines on the fields before games. When he was let go he tried to get a job here at TU but didn't get it. He is a HUGE Temple fan though and follows AAC. I messaged him and this was his response

"Yes. I submitted my bracket into that group. As far as my status on the Tulsa Rivals board, I don't know what's going on with that. It won't let me log in or post and hasn't for quite some time. I just assumed they didn't want me posting any longer. I mean, if he wants to remove me from the group, not a big deal. Probably the best for them as I'd likely lose it and everyone else would be playing for the trophy. LOL!

You are free to share this on the TU board, as I am unable to post there."

we have 18 that have entered the challenge. @lawpoke87 has already started talking smack. I will be locking entries in 3 hours.

I have already removed 2 so far for not following the rules.

Trying so see how many games it takes before I'm out the running. Last yeah I was out by the round of 32. I believe 2 out of my final 4 were gone and like 5 of my elite 8 lol.

I already feel I didn’t pick enough upsets and the ones I did pick were the wrong ones.
This is exactly the feeling I have. I just do not know enough about college basketball this year. NIL is slowly killing college sports for me and I just didnt pay attention. I love March Madness though, I have no inkling who is good.

Well the first true game of the tourney I will lose.

I am 2 for 2 so far but I won’t get my hopes up I normally don’t do good in picking

Perfect bracket so far!!!! McNeese was my 12 over 5 upset and I took Creighton. ACC not looking so good right now.

My perfect bracket will tumble when the BYU game goes final. Apparently I took VCU to win that game.

D2 players are showing that there is not that much difference in the top D2 players and D1 players. The FAU transfer Johnell Davis to Arkansas had ice in his veins as he had been in Final Four in the past. Creighton the best looking team of the whole day. Barkley on air saying how tough coaching is important. Quit being soft and nice all the time with players.

Drake beats Mizzou with 4 DII players. :D

Someone mentioned the FAU transfers. Golding is at Michigan now with Dusty May. May has proven everyone wrong so far in taking over at UM. The team plays an awful lot like the FAU teams he coached. Tough on defense, hi tempo fast break style in offense. I don't know how far they'll get this year but I would say in another year or so UM will be in the Final Four.

Can someone please explain the first 4 to me. I have never understood the seedings of it. They have two 16 seed play-in games and two 11 seed play-in games. That doesnt make sense to me. If these are the last 8 teams to make the tournament then it should be four games fighting for the 16th seed. If you are 11th seed then you are saying they are already better than 20 other teams so why are they having to fight to even get into the tournament??? It makes zero sense to me. They are good enough to be a 11th seed but if they lose then all of a sudden 20 teams just jump them???

The #11 seeds are the last at large bids. The 12-16 are usually automatic qualifiers.

I.I. is correct. the play in games if I remember right were instituted because some teams that deserved to be in were left out and so you have the play in games. Here is where my issue lies with the "first 4". These should be for 11 and 12 seeds. The teams they have in the "first four" that are 16 seeds are conference champions. They should be guaranteed a spot in the field of 64 as they have earned it. They shouldnt have to play in to get into a tournament that they had already earned their spot.

Personally I think all 16 seeds should be at large. I think winning you tournament gives you the right to at least a 15 seed. I get some champion from a no name conference isn't as good at the #9 team from SEC but if you don't want to be a 16 seed then get an auto qualifier or don't be the 12th team from the Big10
