Since the negative nancies are rooting for TU to lose ESPN favors TU by 2.5 tomorrow at 1 PM
That Undoubtedly reflects that SIU beat Arkansas Little Rock earlier
You are of course welcome to stay home or maybe go see OU Arkansas at the BOK
Center
May I remind you that last year we thought everything was over at this point and then won the first 567 conference games

you are welcome to ridicule and criticize me. I have not yet given up on the season

That does not mean I am terribly disappointed at this point
Disappointed yes but still will be using our season tickets

I think most of the negativity around here these days is justified, but I do appreciate your optimism. The beauty of College Basketball is that *any* team can get hot and go on a magical run in March, including us.

Who among us believed ORU had a Sweet Sixteen run in them last year? Probably just as many that believe that we do now. Anyway… you’re not alone in pairing your disappointment with perseverance!

I've never understood shaming people for not going to an event that they don't think is fun. I mean, it's not like they're skipping school or church! It's "entertainment" and if it isn't, then what is it?

There is this weird cultural thing especially for "more experienced" people to value sacrifice and suffering for a cause, any cause, as both building and showing character. It's a cultural way to get people to do things that are objectively bad for them as individuals, and shows up in religious practices like early Christian's self-flagellation. Maybe we should put penitence stations in the Reynolds Center so the faithful can don sackcloth and whip themselves to show their devotion?

Now THAT would get us into the news.

To be fair, the women have played absolutely no one that has a pulse. The coaching is night and day but let us reserve judgement until they play a real team.

Maybe we should just run 🏃 into the wall. (A la Frerotte, better for tradition. )

Memphis loses again, and again, and again, and again...........
Could Haith and Hardaway both miss the tournament? Here's a quote from the Memphis board:
"He can't make the Tournament with a roster full of 4 and 5 stars and the #1 recruiting class. I think anyone on this board could get at least the same results."

If we burn out the season again, I still want to beat Memphis.

Ditto
Yes the fabulous ranked tigers lost to Murray State at home tonight
I would hate to be a T I G E R Tigers fan
LOL at the entitled fans here for the C USA championship at BOK

Happy with the women’s winning streak but they have yet to play a game where they were not huge favorites

But they haven’t lost to teams they were supposed to beat handily, unlike the football and men’s basketball teams.

Excellent Recruiting + Average Coaching = LOTS OF WINS!

Average Recruiting + Excellent Coaching = LOTS OF WINS!

Any single POOR or any Average + Average won't get it done!

Tulsa is poor (maybe average) + poor.
Memphis is excellent + poor.

Crazy.

Little Rock actually beat SIU 69-66 in Little Rock. It was their opening game. They haven’t beat too many really good teams except for maybe Colorado. They lost to Northeastern by 12 and creighton by like 2. All three of these games were at the Paradise Jam.

I do feel we can turn this around. We have a better team than last year, but it is a new team. I just hope it doesn’t take too long for them to figure it out. All of our losses should be wins except maybe Utah. The long rebounds in that game were killing us and our momentum at times.

We get a few good net wins back to back and we will be right back in this. Just like Temple or Tulane did a year or so ago. Start putting a few NET positive wins together and your going from zero to hero fast. It starts today though. The more non conference losses we take the harder it will be on us in conference. I speak on this in today’s thread

We are so weak inside on both ends of the court. That will have to be solved for any meaningful improvement.

Also, as good as Sam Griffin is for 35 minutes he seems to lose his nerve and accuracy as the game closes. That needs to turn around for any meaningful change.

Might as well whip ourselves in solidarity with our whipped team

This will be the first basketball game since I was 12 years old that I have chosen not to either attend, watch on tv, or listen to on the radio. Going to hike the Franklin Mountains for a bit instead. I’ve been putting on weight with my pregnant wife lol

Too much L&J Cafe and Kiki's?

Haywood had a 3? What a possible good omen.

Both teams shooting well from deep early. We’ll see who can keep it up. Tulsa shooting 78% so far.

That was my first look at Elkamyl and he actually looks pretty good. He didn’t score but he handled well, defended pretty good and is shots were just a hair off.

Missing game cause out of town. Noticed the 3 point barrage by SLU. We are really good at that

It breaks my heart to see the complete lack of interest in a game with a credible opponent. I get it 100% though and feel it myself.

If this were the Women’s team playing a lesser opponent, they’d be up by 10 on them instead of being behind.
