I figured TU wasn't interested in him from what Chris had said several times over the past few days. I was just operating on the premise that they might be interested in him in this thread.(Two separate premises running concurrently.)

On main forum page, I normally click where it says “last post 3 min ago” and I missed that and hit your name and then i guess I also hit unfollow at the same time. But I think I’m following you now for what that is worth
Yeah, I you only get notification if somebody is following you. You could unfollow me now, and I'd never know. I was followed by a woman that had a complaint against a football player on TU's team. Regrettably that one was serious. I had made a comment about him, and she took it as a sign I might know something about him other than what I said. Left me an email iirc.
You can accuse me of being excited to hear who we hired tomorrow. That one I'm guilty as charged. Hopefully you won't have to accuse me of being disappointed after the fact.

I'm very surprised that we'd get to the point of making an offer and leaking that the search was over without having an extremely high certainty the offer would be accepted. The process has felt a bit unsteady so far.
This program is taking its last breaths. I'm not being black pilled, just facing reality. Unless big money comes in and brings a big name coach and gets us into the "money" I do not see how my alma matter crawls back from this in the NIL era.
Everything I have heard from pretty reliable sources says exactly the opposite of what you say. In fact, I have been surprised with the amount of money being thrown at TU sports recently.
I don’t have any sources but I do feel this is the case. They hired a younger AD with a drive to get things done and I don’t think they would’ve done that without knowing they were going to have to make some changes to go in the right direction. His email he sent out gives you the feeling he will do whatever necessary to right the ship.
I don't have any direct experience but I think NIL is overrated as an influence. There have always been major differences between richer and less rich schools, that hasn't changed. If the interwebs are right, Big 10 schools got $60m last year and AAC schools got $10m. It's not like some teams suddenly got rich and upset an established system. If NIL was the main factor, then you'd expect the top 25 to be filled with rich schools, and that isn't the case. If anything, there seems to be more variability this year than in prior years. I'm not saying NIL is unimportant, just that I don't think we're worse off in this system than we were before NIL. I think with the right coach, we can compete for AAC championships.
Carson sees no reason we cannot be as good as Tulane. Emulate SMU. That we should aspire for excellence in all things.
Better decisions and resources are needed. But why not Tulsa?
