I don't have any direct experience but I think NIL is overrated as an influence. There have always been major differences between richer and less rich schools, that hasn't changed. If the interwebs are right, Big 10 schools got $60m last year and AAC schools got $10m. It's not like some teams suddenly got rich and upset an established system. If NIL was the main factor, then you'd expect the top 25 to be filled with rich schools, and that isn't the case. If anything, there seems to be more variability this year than in prior years. I'm not saying NIL is unimportant, just that I don't think we're worse off in this system than we were before NIL. I think with the right coach, we can compete for AAC championships.
