I hope you're joking. He found out on Twitter. They told players before him.

Also, some scuttlebutt that new president wouldn't let him sign players with tattoos. I know one coach who won't recruit anyone with tattoos. He turns his paperwork in on time and can't damage their floor anymore than they already have. He knows the "southwest effing Tulsa" market very well.
If they were so glorious as to hire him I would be going to the store for popcorn. Also, some scuttlebutt that new president wouldn't let him sign players with tattoos. His son has picked up 2 offers and only a sophomore. I pity the HC of the school he signs with. I wonder if someone will hire Doug to get his son? Lol

I think this is spot on! Obviously, he is very committed to his family and is incredibly loyal, two qualities that are rare and incredibly admirable. I wish him well and now there is absolutely no reason have any respect for those folks at 81st and Lewis.I wonder if Sean/Scott will be limited in which coaching job they take by the distance they are away from Eddie? If they weren't then I would think he would land a heck of a lot better job than ORU. He may end up writing the ORU administration a thank you note for firing him.

That's not true...it's always been a part of the application process for every student entering. Coaches are just now being asked to ensure this whereas before there may have been some wiggle room and other admin realized it was an opportunity to minister to those who weren't as strong in their faith. You have to be a professed Christian as well, looks like that stipulation went into play when Wilson became president in 2013 (Haisten/4/11TW). Tulsa would do well to quit playing this professed university in men's basketball, they will always be an RPI killer from this point on.
No, I'm saying the stipulation didn't start under Dr. Wilson. So what you're saying is it's totally true?

You know who I would look at if I were ORU? Shea Seals.
No commentDo you believe it's a coincidence that the basketball program slide began shortly after Wilson was named Pres?
Ha. Because he directed a question at me and I wanted to give the courtesy of an answer without explicitly spelling out my thoughts (for obvious reasons). Why did you post, if you had no comment. Lol
I thought about that one. Why would he go there? Sounds like a dead end gig. And if he did well there, we would hire him back faster than Voice at a taco eating contest.
A couple winning seasons and losing your coach is better than never having a winning coach in the first place. I think it would be a perfect gig for Shea. He's got the local area connections to really grab the diamonds in the rough that ORU is used to recruiting. He wouldn't cost the admin much, he's already in town, he's a good family man by all accounts, and he's got coaching experience at multiple levels.I thought about that one. Why would he go there? If ORU got their e together, they would see the quality guy that Seals is and give him a reprieve for past transgressions. He'd be a great choice for them.Shea has some recent baggage that probably would disqualify him from ORU. But I think that would be a good starting point for Shea as a head coach. It would likely cement the continuation of the series with TU as well, which is something that ORU needs. But, ugh, those trips to the Dakotas.

I think it would be a win-win, and if Shea did well, he could use it as a springboard to a bigger, better job.
We're not talking about TU.He has a grand total of two years experience in recruiting. I love the guy, but come on. Phillips had more D1 experience at other schools before he came to TU.
