Jay Wright's interview in the USA Today paper convinced me that there is a way for TU to get back to basketball prominence. He stated that he found out he could not recruit with the "North Carolinas" , etc for the big 6'11" game ready athletes so he took the opposite approach and started recruiting great three point shooters from which there is large pool for everybody. It has worked.

I think TU can do the same and avoid one and dones letting Memphis and Penny Hardaway have those.

We can win with a combination of great three point shooters (and that means at least 4 on the floor at all times) and a pressuring Nolan/Self defense, even a pressuring match-up zone which traps. Our inside player needs to basically be a "rim protector".

No more Bishop Wheatley's, Bryson Popes, Guilherme Teichmanns, or Trevor Meiers. Nice kids but no one had to guard them.

We need three point shooters like Steve Harris, David Moss, Tracy Moore, Gary Collier, Pooh Williamson, Jonnie Gendron, Shawn Williams, Marcus Hill, Greg Harrington, Dante Swanson, Rod Earls, Justin Hurtt, and James Woodard.

Most of these guys were not highly recruited by the high majors and with good recruiting we can get the same type player. After watching the tournament and mid majors winning with 3's, I remain convinced. The big boys (UNC, Kansas, Duke) may get to the Final Four a lot with their One and Dones but we can get a long way (Sweet sixteen) etc, with great shooters.

P.S. Frank--- Don't overlook the Daily Oklahoman and Tulsa World rankings of the top three point shooters in the state. Some are not highly recruited.....maybe they should be........
