A 7 point loss to a summit one bid ncaa league. This is a worse loss than Air Force who is at least a mountain west team not a summit league team 😂Once again, brilliant move keeping Haith , TU...... NOT!
One bad loss every now and then is one thing , but this happens every yearA 7 point loss to a summit one bid ncaa league.
Abmas scored 27 of their 42 2nd half points. I’ll stay with my earlier comment. I’ve seen ORU play 3 other games before this one. We should have denied Abmas the ball & double teamed whenever possible. They have others who can shoot.
Do we not practice guarding against the 3 ball? I bet if you checked the stats for Haiths teams at Miami Missouri are they also the worst in the nation.Abmas scored 27 of their 42 2nd half points. Not inferiorThe Ls to inferior teams don't even bother me anymore
We are their first d1 win. We lost this game in the 1st half with all the open 3s we gave them. Not inferior
Actually... I am right 99.98% of the time.
I calls 'em as I sees 'em.
ORU is Tulsa's team these days. It sucks. But that's wha( TU gets for doing the SAME thing and expecting different results. It's insanity. And I will continue to call out the obvious.
Last I checked....Half of their possessions are one dude taking step back 3s. What are you talking about?
True.Kind of like complaining about the same things over and over and over again when you know nothing is going to change - insanity.
Original is a POS and always will be !I know your whole “thing” is dissing TU at every opportunity… We are shooting OVER 52% from 3 and outshooting ORU.
I haven't been vested much in basketball since I was a kid and Tulsa went to sweet sixteen and beat Oklahoma State in the early 90s. Based on what I'm reading on here, Haith has similar affinity that Monty has on the football side of things... I know nothing about college hoops, but isn't basketball the only thing that ORU excels at? I remember going to the Mabee center as a kid and they had all these huge portraits of these ORU players from the 70s with massive afros who must've done something impressive to be immortalized.I didnt even care enough to check the schedule to see this game was happening. I used to sit out in the cold in my truck to listen because I couldn't get radio signals in my farm house. Sad...

Missed wide open game winner against OSU. I think it was an air ball.I wish Phipps played for TU. Kid can shoot and you cannot teach that skill.
I think they have had a pretty good baseball program as well. A few guys make the majors.I haven't been vested much in basketball since I was a kid and Tulsa went to sweet sixteen and beat Oklahoma State in the early 90s. They are pretty small this year if a couple of young guys on the bench can't come on later in the year.Last I checked....
He plays for ORU --- and led them to a Sweet 16 last year. So... what's your point?
Plus, every one of those ORU players can hit the 3. That changes the game. That helps to even out mismatches and makes them able to beat 99% of all D1 teams on any given night.
And also observe what winning can do for external funding!!!Let's stop pretending ORU is the only place that yells teams suck. Ive been to plenty of TU games where our students yell the same thing. It is what it is, some of you need to get off your high horse. We havent done a damn thing in basketball lately to act all high and mighty. Where ORU was a shot away from the elite 8 last year. Should probably wait until we can actually say weve made the tourney before acting like we're better then anyone
Yep, That sweet 16 run really helped ORU with the budget. Amazing how that works! Win games in the tourney and boosters tend to open their wallets. And also observe what winning can do for external funding!!!
My wife and I visited Houston at their old basketball arena and the student section yelled right at us "F&^%$K TULSA".Let's stop pretending ORU is the only place that yells teams suck. Seems totally rational. What bothered me almost as much as the loss was that attendance was double what we had the last game at the Reynolds Center.
I’ll never understand TU “fans” that won’t go to a game because the team isn’t good enough for them. I’m driving 7 hours to Boise on Friday to watch, spending the night then driving back Saturday. Same team, same record.Seems totally rational.
Losses are too painful for travel now and happen too often. So I would say after 18 years of patience my enthusiasm level is down.I’ll never understand TU “fans” that won’t go to a game because the team isn’t good enough for them. I did this travel in 1982, 1983, 1984, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999,2000, 2001, 2002. Those were really good teams to travel to see and all had NCAA tournament capability.I’ll never understand TU “fans” that won’t go to a game because the team isn’t good enough for them. I’m talking about the folks that won’t travel across town to watch the team they root for. see the two posts above mine.I did this travel in 1982, 1983, 1984, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999,2000, 2001, 2002. Those were really good teams to travel to see and all had NCAA tournament capability.
