Is there any chance the Dems can capture a state office today? I realize that the Governor, Senate and House races are likely going to be non-competitive but can the Dems show any life down the ballot or at the state level House and Senate?
In the last 100 years there have been 22 Democratic Governors to just 5 Republicans. Dems have held both state houses until just recently but now both are overwhelmingly Republican. Tip O'Neal always said to make local elections local. The Dems had succeeded in doing just that until recently. A two party system is good for the state imo. The idea of a southern blue dog Dem has faded as national politics now seems to control even at the state level.
Any hope for the Oklahoma Dems going forward in the near future?
