I hope so

Well pretty sure we are now covid free and in what is a semi bubble. No class so they can just work on some basketball stuff. We still seem out of synch just a bit, hell with everything closed and campus empty with the way Haiths teams get along I wouldn't be surprised to see a completely different looking team just because everything will be basketball centric for a little while.

Hopefully after Haywood's poor performance against an NAIA team, Frank will pull him as a starter. He should only give him limited minutes as a sub, until he shows something else in those limited minutes. His average mpg is 23, that needs to be pulled down by 10. I don't want to see him getting more than 13 or so mpg until those minutes improve.

the key to UH is the same as the game here last year - patient offense, no rushed shots that let UH run and rebound, tight defense, and most importantly, a tight game down the stretch so that UH plays nervously at the end

Austin Richie with a 3 bomb in the last minute!

There are three keys to beating Houston, rebound, rebound and rebound. I’m not confident that we’ll be able to do that. Our rebounding seemed to be much better last year.

Yeah, sometimes we forget bitching about rebounding(at the first of the year) last year.
This is true, but I’m not super comfortable hoping for a drastic turnaround every season.

Would be nice if we could put together a somewhat complete season for once.

I’m watching Houston at UCF and it’s going to be tough hanging close with either of these teams.

Both team’s are really tough. Houston, more so. A win Monday would be one of the biggest wins in school history. Not counting on it though, but hope I’m surprised.

Houston shoots 36% fg’s, 28% 3-pts, gets out rebounded by 7, but wins by 9 on the road. Ole Calvin is one heck of a recruiter and coach.

Attendance: 1,476 at UCF. UCF had 7 more turnovers than Houston and was only 2-13 from the three.

Yes he is....As we all know, coaching is a lot of the big, basic things as well as being able to get
a total buy-in from the players on a lot of little things....The finishing touches.....Maybe the
latter is why Houston could overcome adverse stats to win on the road....

Can we compete equally with Houston and UCF right now? Probably not....The quality of
the threes we are attempting, with exceptions of course, are not as open as the ones our
opponents are taking.....Open threes are usually generated by penetration and dishing out
to the perimeter, and passing the ball inside and back out again.....That's why it is so
encouraging to see Williams drive with a pass first mentality.....That has been in too short
supply so far this season....Good player movement and ball reversal are also factors....

Our shot selection needs to be improved if we are to be more effective.....We won't beat
many folks if someone continues to shoot 1 for 7 from 25 feet, and eats up 20+ minutes of
playing time doing so....We have better options, and hopefully we are tending in that
direction.....

We may have a couple of players not giving 100% on the defensive end. Sampson would eat them alive on National TV. Good coaches provoke some fear into performance as well as give highly earned support when effort is given.
