Non Conference Mens Basketball

Seems to get a little later every year.

Last year, it was September 21st.
In 2021, it was August 12th.
In 2020, it was November 6th.*
In 2019, it was July 21st.
In 2018, it was July 13th.
In 2017, it was July 20th.
In 2016, we had a full non-conference schedule on June 13th.

Yeah, I don’t understand it. We always had full schedules by the time the conference schedule was announced but here we are a month later with nothing but speculation.

I was hoping it was Frank not getting his scheduling/paperwork in. Thought it would be at least pseudo fixed when Konkol had a full changing of the guard this year. Guess not.

Ok, you lost me, what is MTE?

In 7 years at LaTech, Konkol had a top 200 non-conference SOS once and played 14 non-D1 games. Challenging schedules is not something I would expect to see from him.

You gotta crawl before you walk and chew gum at the same time.

We have a young team that needs to gel.

We’ve got young players that need confidence.

If he scheduled a road game at Alabama and we lost it by 40 points and fell to TCU at home by 22, most of y’all would be questioning that.

Me? I’m just gonna eat the popcorn and hope the plan of building this program and team over time will pay off.

Worry less about the seeds in the tournament and worry more about the seeds we are planting on campus.

Will playing the MEAC this year develop our shooting so we arent starting over hoping yet another high school kid is over looked and will sign with us and magically go lights out with just a summer of instruction?

Are we getting stronger under the rim to compensate for our lack of size and depth rotation?

Ask those questions, not why we weren’t playing OU at home.

This year we need success so these guys can gel.
Playing a crazy azz difficult noncon is not what we need.
Let’s get some dubs and confidence and see how that prepares us for conference play.

I’ve seen it work both ways. There’s the idea of gaining momentum, and the idea that iron sharpens iron and that a tough schedule will make you tougher.

I think you need to pick the right one for the team you have… you can’t split the difference.

When the team you have is all new to each other, young, and getting used to a new coach for most players, then iron doesn't sharpen iron.
Exactly. I've never seen a whinier group of people...CONSTANTLY. Let's just watch and hopefully enjoy the development.

That’s a short convo.
It’s HAF
That’s it.

And our AC unit went out yesterday afternoon.
Being held hostage by HVAC companies.
One seems ridiculously high and trying to oversell.
Should have four additional quotes by end of day.

If you're in Tulsa, I recommend Hendrick Heat and Air.

The were also recommended by a neighbor and I liked what I read about them.
I spoke to them this morning. They charge $80.00 to come out and evaluate, give a price. No one else is charging to come out.

I think they charged me too but they put it towards your unit if you purchase with them. They were $20,000 cheaper than any of the big 3 in Tulsa (Air Co, Air Assurance, and the other one). Everything went down pretty quickly too, no 3-4 days of waiting on anything.

This is perhaps my favorite Robin Williams bit from any of his comedies. And to think most of his on air radio dialogue in this movie was ad-libbed and the reactions from the radio staffers listening was genuine as they were hearing much of it for the first time. Man was an absolute comedic genius. His bits from the old HBO Comic Relief telethons were worth waiting for

Well, I'm just over the moon to have a competitive basketball team. If there was a way to have a game of this year's roster versus last year's roster, it would be jaw dropping to say the least.

We now have a date for the ORU game, so half the non-conference schedule is settled.

11/6 Central Arkansas
11/9 Incarnate Word
11/16 Jackson State
12/2 at Oral Roberts
12/10 Oklahoma State in OKC
12/16 Missouri State
