Tyshawn Archie showed some buzzer beating magic that could be a preview of things to come for TU basketball. Although only an exhibition game, Archie’s 30-foot three-pointer at the end of regulation sent the game into overtime, and catapulted TU to a 75-70 victory over Missouri S&T on Tuesday night in front of an announced crowd of 2,715 at the Reynolds Center.

The Archie steal and game-tying shot was a classic, even if it doesn't count in regular season. What a terrific play. Give it up to him,

Good for him! Had I not known who did that, I would have guessed Archie....

Given the lack of buzz after the game, I would suspect we stunk up the place the last 2/3 of the game...the
state of TU sports at the moment is not too hot....The results of us replacing the then mediocre coaches has
so far given us more mediocrity....

There are some reasons that are obvious....Covid and its aftermaths, the portal, and NIL have all been
contributors, especially the NIL factor....It's just not an even playing field without the ability to compete for
good players with our competitors on a somewhat even $$ basis.....Getting the player is hard enough, keeping
the player if he/she shows unusual promise is quiet another....

BUT, it is what it is....We seem to be in over our heads at the moment, with no immediate solutions at hand...
I'm frustrated right now, and needed to say something....I realize that won't help anything, but at least I feel a
little better....:frown:

Exhibition games are just that. Exhibitions. We will see how they are tonight. Our first exhibition we dominated. This one we dominated the first part, then we didnt. It could have been multiple reasons. Konkol could have wanted the other team to get back in it so he could see how his team responded in tough situations. He could have been running certain plays to see if we can pull them off. He could have running defense in a way that didnt fit the game but to see if his players would adjust. There are many reason in a exhibition game to leave it as just that. Never look deeply into them win or lose.
