Finally, a professional team good enough to overcome Penny's coaching prowess?
NBA player Tyrese Hunter on Memphis went 7-10 from the three. Haggerty was 1-4 from the three but shot 14 free throws initiating contact and getting the calls. Hunter went to the NBA but returned this year as he was borderline 1st round. Penny gave up on the 5 star freshmen and got several 25 year old All-American type transfers. That will work. I suspect Hunter might make more at Memphis than he would in the NBA.
His complaint about that call was justified though.

My hatred of UConn & Memphis is pretty damned equal though. I always struggle with who I want to look worse. I know it can bring us money for Memphis to do well, but damn...

The hurdy gurdy man is not happy. Going from 4-0 to 4-2 playing teams they look down on won’t set well with UConn fans.
Memphis just beat Michigan State 71-63. They’re playing good ball. Haggerty had 16 pts, 9 rbs and 4 assts.
Haggerty only shot 4 free throws and was 1-4 again from the three but was a great rebounder. Hunter needs to be in the NBA now. Memphis has been the biggest beneficiary in the USA with the instant portal and unlimited NIL funding. They finally found out just getting all the 5 star Freshmen don't make you win everything.
Memphis is the real deal this year and barring something unusual happening I don’t think even Penny can mess it up.
UConn lost their 3rd straight game to Dayton by 18. I imagine Hurley is hurling, at least I hope he is.

Prior to this haggerty situation, Memphis didn't bother me. Their fans were actually pretty cool when we went to the CUSA tournament.
I view the haggerty situation as a lil penny situation more than Memphis thing. The FedEx money helps

An odd trivia thing for me, is I never heard that song on the radio. and I listened to a a lot of classic rock on the radio. I never cared that much for Donovan back in the 70's and 80's so I never was interested enough to listen to it on the record and had no friends that ever played it in front of me, nor ever saw a clip of it live on tv. So I heard this song for the first time, while watching Britannia like maybe 3 years ago. It's the most famous song I never heard before I turned 50. Season of the Witch used to be the only thing I liked by him. Not now.
