Loyola thread.

He still comes to most games
Don't care if he is a fan... administrative wise the university hasn't been the same since J. Pascal and Dr. Davis died. I was in school at that time and experienced what happened first hand.

What about Graham, Cunnningham, and Mr Upham.
Tulsa had one chance right before the first big alignment shift created the Big 12 and all that. It was during that time Tulsa needed to have a solid football and basketball program, making noise nationally like the Freedom Bowl team against SDSU. And it slipped away...

If you are talking bout us moving to the big 12, I'm not so sure that would have happened. OSU would have thrown fits about us coming in place of UCF, Houston, or Cincinatti. And we wouldn't have gone to the ACC, not without throwing money around that we wouldn't have easily had access to, like SMU did. Yes we would have had the acc tv contract, but still... And would we have taken that risk that SMU took? They have a lot more donor money covering up situations that would have made a move like that difficult. That donor money made that move a lot more feasible.

Yeah it's nice to wish upon a star that we'd of had a good team at the time those things happened. Would it have helped us make the only two moves that a group or individual team (from the American) has made? Not likely. It would have made a move to the reformed Pac 12, or MWC more possible, but those moves did not even happen for anybody in our conference.

Now could it have made our conference stronger and possibly made the conference better aligned to add Big 12 teams, instead of the Big 12 raiding us? That I could buy a little easier. Same story with the Pac 12 and/or MWC. But in hindsight, even that is questionable.

We were never going to be in the Big 12, but the university had a shot to be Tulsa's university for a long time. Instead, the administration killed the part time student incentives, dropped the sports degrees that kept athletes, and made bone headed conference alignment decisions. All that is on the administration...

Oh, and bring back baseball... I'm kidding.
