Lost Restaurants of Tulsa

Charlie Mitchell’s, someplace around 31st? Many beers consumed there.

Taco Train in Jenks.

Mr. Gatti’s near Woodland Hills. Was the kind of pizza that I bet if I had it now I’d think this place sucks, what was I thinking?

Charlie Mitchell's was at 21st & Columbia

Not surprising you youngsters omitted the Shadow Mountain Inn at 61st & Sheridan.
Elmo's was a small hole in the wall on 15th St. just east of Yale, but they served some mighty good groceries.

Shadow Mountain Inn on the hill. Buddy of my dad who (obviously) owned the Phoenicia. Shadow Mountain Inn was one of the very few places we would eat out. There was one other place in London Square...

I bused tables and washed dishes at the Golden Drumstick, 11th and Yale, in high school. 75 cents and hour and all the dark meat chicken I could eat, and I ate a lot of it. What great fried chicken that was.
