Or given A 5 year extension, I feel we will have to go undefeated the rest of the year with only close losses to Houston and Wichita any other slip ups will send our 76 net rankings over 100 with no guarantee even an Nit or Lower tourney bid.

No, he won’t be fired... For a couple of reasons:

1. basketball seems to be trending upwards. If he keeps recruiting well, basketball could be fun for the next few years.

2. If they didn’t fire Philip, they aren’t going to fire Frank.

Not sure about trending upward on a macro scale. He’s going to have to replace a bunch of players after next season. That puts a big question mark on the future of the program.

Next season should be good though.

At the end of next season, both TU and Haith will have to make a decision. It could be time for either or both to make a decision to change. That would be the best time for both parties to decide. Next season looks like the best on paper in a long time IF we have a decent inside game and rebounding. A big JUCO ready to play is crucial but we are going up against everyone else for that same player.

We just kept a football coach because he was "competitive" in his losses. Haith more than likely gets an extension with this year's results to date.

Where does he finish in conference? Seriously, if he ends up 4th or 5th and a 14-4 or 13-5 conference record, the optics of not giving him a 2 or 3 yr extension would be a terrible look for TU.

Why don’t we see how the season plays out. Let’s start by winning tomorrow and taking it one game at a time.

Won't be an extension since he got one last year with NCAA or bust written on it. But he will get to coach out next year for sure. After that who knows? All dependent on NCAA's He's had 7 years to get there with his own players and most feel that has given him a good chance. Let's get there this year and next so we don't have to worry about it.

Having his star player injured when they started to gel, and being out three weeks(6 games) in the second half of the conference games? Going far in the NIT? I think those things might get him an extension in extenuating circumstances.

He’s done enough already this season to merit staying the final year.

Your odds of him not being here are less than one out of 10000 for the final year of his contract, even with no post season this year.

Whether he gets extended in the off season and what that looks like will depend on how the team does from here and whether he wants to stay.

Discussing what NCAA seed vs if we will be in.
That shizz is on our AD’s office. Seemingly every other AD in the country managed to get at least a portion of their transfers eligible. Ours, as we all know, was O-for.

He’ll get through the end of next year because it’s a senior-laden squad, but man if we give a contract extension after 4 consecutive missed tournaments, what are we even doing here?

Do you think the AD would hold Frank accountable for not having two transfer players that the AD screwed up getting allowed to play this year? I don’t think so.

Hard to not keep him since he got the guys he needed to get to the NCAA this year but the AD couldn’t get waivers for them.

He might, though it’s unlikely. Hell, there’s never been anybody owning that major FUBAR. The only frustration I ever saw was on Haith’s face when he was having to follow the party line. I felt bad that he had to bear that bad news.
