If that guy ever coagulates a more solid style and puts out an album he might be somebody. Of course it's hard to tell about his style since he's only got 6 or 7 songs that seem to be out there in the ether.Try some Keir.
Night and Day and Probably are pretty good.
Kinky Friedman's(Poli-tic-shun) got a quality version of Ira Hayes.Still working on this crazy case. Give me something decent. I’m listening to Townes playing “Ira Hayes” because I have this other case where a dope on the other side keeps calling the IRA in dispute an “Ira.” Yeah, I got your drunken Ira Hayes right here . . .
Brandi Carlile is magic. Her voice cuts right through me. Maybe give the Wood Brothers a listen if you haven't, or Shovels and Rope. Also really liked Brandi Carlile's new record (By The Way, I Forgive You).
They kinda mixed nu wave and metal, cool concept.
Didn't he play guitar for X for a bit in the 80s?
Yes, and he played in The Blasters with his brother Phil.Didn't he play guitar for X for a bit in the 80s?
"See How We Are" right? He replaced Billy Zoom for that X album. It was a good one.Yes, and he played in The Blasters with his brother Phil.
Thought I'd mention this for anybody that didn't know. Black Flag is on their farewell tour Dec 6 at Beer City Music Hall in OKC.(Where I recently saw brit chick Lola Young) @Li'l Eric Coley @HuffyCane
No Henry Rollins, sadly.
Beer City Music Hall seems like a pop up venue for events only. Only holds 500 people, and there is a moderately limited bar, with no reentry. So you have to stay within the confines of their fenced in area out front, or the inside the building. They have a three burritos available, and that's it on the food. It seemed like s very corporate minded money maker type of place. Didn't care that much for the venue, but if that's where one of the artists you like is going to play, it suffices to see them live.I looked up the Beer City Music Hall, which incidentally I'd never heard of, to learn a li'l more about the show. I'm not sure I trust Greg Ginn to invest my time. Anyhoo, The Queers are opening up, whom I was never impressed with. We opened up for them at the Vanguard and somewhere else I can't remember.
