No you know it all I wasn’t surprised
But I am disappointed and expect better
Maybe you like mediocrity

I listened to that GZ game and was not remotely worried because I knew what Self had accomplished at ORU
I consider myself a real basketball fan but I am competitive to a fault in most aspects of life. And I don't know basketball well enough to follow the intricacies of strategy and execution and immerse myself in that.I was there as were most real basketball fans. I enjoyed the game even with the loss. Remember I saw Bill Self lose to Gonzaga 78-40 his first year. He made a huge change in his lineup the next year. It's kinda fun to see what type players we need to get to compete with the Houston's of the world. And the atmosphere was really good. There was a standing ovation for TU at the under 16 time out which we haven't seen in a long time.
I don't like mediocrity, or in reality, crap. But I, and a number of other posters realized early on that this would be a throw away season, and a rebuild was on it's way.No you know it all I wasn’t surprised

😀I saw several basketball coaches there who don’t come regularly to TU games. Several TU basketball alumni as well. I realize some people have conflicts but obviously to see the number 3 ( and maybe # 1) team in the country play brings out the die hard basketball fan. In the 70’s as a die hard basketball fan I came to an Indiana State/Tulsa game to see one player. I was not a TU fan yet. I was still a fan of the Razorback triplets. But the Louisville game here in 1980 changed that for good. You may need to define that term for those that had conflicting priorities this evening.
I was at that Indiana State game as well as the Louisville game and the Phi Slamma Jamma tourney game. Stayed home and watched football last night though.😀I saw several basketball coaches there who don’t come regularly to TU games. Several TU basketball alumni as well. I used to slip down into the Verbal Abuse section when I was in jr high/high school to “Rant and Rave” with the college kids. Maybe you were one of the students that always helped me find an open spot.I was at the Indiana St game as well. Larry Bird took a hard fall into the front row of the student section. He landed next to me. I turned to him and said Larry I will be happy to negotiate your professional contract for a small per cent. He looked at me with his goofy grin and said “what”. I guess he didn’t want to do it. 😁

Bird had a quiet 22 point 22 rebound game.I listened to that one on the radio as a teenager.
Lewis Lloyd and Larry Bird were great opponents of that era.
