On Wednesday afternoon, details of an NCAA investigation into the Missouri men’s basketball program, the former employer of Tulsa head coach Frank Haith, were released for public consumption. This obviously sparked conversation among TU fans.

The situation -- as it relates to Haith -- received some additional information just a few hours after the initial report.

“Today, I read the details of the NCAA investigation of the men’s basketball program at the University of Missouri, and Golden Hurricane head men’s basketball coach Frank Haith was not named in any of the reports,” said Tulsa Athletics Director Derrick Gragg in a statement. “Coach Haith has cooperated fully with the NCAA during this process and has not been accused of any wrongdoing during his tenure at Missouri.”

TU also released a statement from Haith's attorney, Scott Tompsett.

“Coach Haith cooperated fully with the investigation conducted by the NCAA enforcement staff and we have been informed by the enforcement staff that coach Haith will not be charged with any violations and, therefore, has been cleared of any wrongdoing,” Tompsett said in the statement. “It has been coach Haith’s position throughout this investigation that he acted appropriately at all times and that he monitored his program and promoted an atmosphere of compliance. The fact that the enforcement staff has not charged coach Haith with any violations vindicates our position.”

According to the findings, Mizzou had three major violations. Two of those were related to two Missouri donors that provided extra benefits to basketball players. Missouri also reported a "failure to adequately monitor" penalty due to not investigating the validity of the summer internship program.

The Tigers also reported two minor violations for interactions with a recruit. The report listed a “former associate head coach” as being involved.

After Wednesday's basketball practice, TU released a statement from Coach Haith.

“I appreciate the thoroughness of the NCAA during this process,” Haith said. “I echo the sentiments of Missouri’s Kim Anderson in expressing disappointment that the actions of a few individuals have put the Tiger basketball program in this situation.”

It doesn’t appear that Frank Haith was named in any part of the report, which lines up with the statements released by TU. The NCAA served Missouri with a verbal Notice of Inquiry on April 14, 2014, and four days later, Haith was hired at Tulsa. According to Haith's attorney in Kansas City, Haith and TU officials were notified of the NCAA investigation in February 2015.
