Grocery prices finally coming down….

His plans contain so many internal conflicts that if they didn't hurt so many people it would almost be fun to watch them fall apart. The food industry, ship building, housing construction, elder care, etc. will all be affected by harsh immigration deportations, Congressional Republicans have held up immigration reform for more than 25 years. Only Congress has the power to permanently update the immigration system; executive orders can't to anything lasting. Unfortunately Trump has zero ability to lead Congress. Contrast his many first term failures to deliver with Biden's navigating several bills through a divided Congress.

His energy policy is also confusing. He hopes to spur drilling to lower energy prices by relaxing restrictions on drilling on Federal land. Doubtful that will have any short term effect. Energy prices are a big part of the inflation measurements. Yet the US is producing more oil than anyone now, and why do oil companies want prices at the pump to fall by overproducing? Auto companies need to develop better EV's to compete internationally (EV's are about 50% of sales in China), so suppressing the domestic market undermines the international competitiveness of the auto industry. Yet Trump claims he's helping autoworkers. Ok, he is strengthening Tesla's relative position with US auto companies. People buy Tesla's in part for environmental reasons while at the Davos conference, Trump denies climate change exists and creates more damage than driving Teslas could ever offset.

Glad you guys now care about inflation. Only took Biden being out of office 48 hours. In any event….welcome aboard.
