ITS GAMEDAY!!!!!

We have a double header today at the Reynolds Center. The Men host Cincinnati and the Women host Temple. Both needing wins today. Tulsa goes on a 4-game road schedule after this and then finish with the last two at home before starting the conference tournament in Fort Worth in 26 Days. The women need to start stringing together conference wins to try to be relevant in the women’s field. They start their tournament in Fort Worth in 23 days.

There are a lot of conference games on high profile channels today. Memphis visits #6 Houston today at 2:30 on ABC. There are a couple of games on ESPNU.

And 1

Today is legends day at the Reynolds center. Due to the snow storm last week they will also be celebrating National Girls and Women in Sports Day at the Reynolds Center. There was an email that was sent out that you could get a ticket to both games and a t-shirt for $50. Not sure if that is a deal or not. So that is up to you.

From the TU Website

“Tulsa will recognize those former basketball players who will make their return to the Reynolds Center at halftime. Some of the Legends expected to be in attendance include members of the 1980-81 NIT Champions David Brown and Ed Lindblad; two-time Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year from the late 1980s Michael Scott; MVC Player of the Year Gary Collier, Lou Dawkins, Cordell Love, J.R. Rollo and Pooh Williamson from the school's first NCAA Sweet 16 team in 1993-94; and 2000 NCAA Final Eight team members Eric Coley, Tony Heard, Brandon Kurtz and David Shelton among a number of other former TU basketball student-athletes.”

GO TU!!!!

Wish I could go to the game to see the old guys. I’m glad I got to say hi to JR when I was in Daytona.
Those guys gave us many moments and games that we’ll remember forever.

I still remember driving myself and 3 friends (who were not Tulsa fans) to the Louisville game in Nolan’s 1st year. So much excitement. On the drive home the 3 guys were definitely Tulsa fans and wanted to go see more games—which we did numerous times from Ponca City.

Bill : That was my first TU game after I moved to Tulsa. Season tickets bought the next day and ever since.

Memphis likely back in the tourney as of today
Not what I was hoping for. Maybe SMU will beat them. But they have their foul mouth 25 year old back and he keeps them going. Looks like Larry Brown much more involved with the coaching now. Some of the players even had to hold him back from getting on the floor.

I saw that. It was like the player was having to explain to him why he needed to get back. Lol

David Shelton? Has he been back before?

Hope we see a bit of the halftime on tv.

ITS VICTORY SUNDAY!!!!

The ladies lost in Epic fashion yesterday afternoon and the Men won on consistent play. IT seems like each time the ladies lose the men win the same day.

There is only one game today with Colorado State going to Boise for a 3 p.m. Tip. This game is a rescheduled game due to covid at Colorado State. They are NET’s 34 and 35. This should be a good contest.

And 1

Its Superbowl Sunday. I don’t have a dog in the fight but I hope the Bengals win. I have zero interest in the Halftime show and the commercials are overrated. Why am I watching? ITS FOOTBALL! That’s why. Lol. I spend most my time watching the Olympics. ITS MONOBOB time. Lol.

GO TU!!!!
