Does Mills make it beyond this year in Wichita? Not quite the same coach without Absmas or a 7'4" Lurch who can shoot the 3

I don’t see any way you fire a coach after one season unless there are non-basketball issues.
Agree. Recruited a couple of fantastic players away from big schools at ORU and a good Baylor pedigree coach. The new portal/ NIL system may cause him discomfort as it does many coaches who find it completely different the past two years.

No chance they fire him. Hard to lose Absmas and the big guy and maintain your winning ways the following year. Hell…the TU win alone probably gets him another year or two :)

I got distracted tonight and forgot about the game dammit. Only thing on when I realized it, was the last 5 minutes of the Rice Storm in Memphis. It was an old school wedding.

UAB knocks off north Texas in Denton 82-79 in overtime
Dang. Does that mean USF and FAU are tied atop the league right now. BTW, don't sleep on So. Florida. They are extremely well coached and he gets every last drop of effort out them.

TU inched up 4 spots to 174
WSU down 9
Rice up 20
Memphis only down 8
Ken Pom up to 164.

Thought we'd move up more in the NET but it's irrelevant at this point. This team is finally learning how to win and close games and I couldn't be more excited for the future.

Yea, I expected 8-10 and Memphis to fall 12-14.
The team continues to grow and that is exactly what we need to see right now!

He will be a good coach there. He has a better budget, a much better nil program, and none of the deficits in recruiting to deal with at Wichita St.(Students don't have mandatory religious services, aren't required to wear a tie, are allowed to have a tatoo, and can spend the night with their girlfriend without looking over their shoulder.) He will find the players.

There are no games that I am tracking today. Was not able to post yesterday so here it is today. Tulsa Men are in action tomorrow in Boca Raton against FAU. Yesterday the TU Women fell on the road to East Carolina 56-48. On the Men’s side, Little Rock lost to SIUE 68-66. Florida Gulf Coast gave Central Arkansas a beating 82-59, New Mexico State beat out Liberty in overtime 79-73 and the only game in the American had the SMOOOOO beat Tulane 80-76

AND ONE

Lots of upsets this past week which really means that the championship is wide open and no clear cut leader. We have 3 teams at 7-1 and North Texas had a fall from grace losing two in a row. Going into the games tomorrow there are 5 games in the American all three of the teams that are at the top of the standings at 7-1 are in action. Tulsa plays one of them in FAU. Currently Tulsa would be the 9th seed playing against East Carolina in the Early game on Thursday. With how things have been going, who knows where we will end up. The updated standings are below

Starting to look like AAC will only get 2 into the NCAAs with Memphis precipitous drop in the NET after their poor spell.

Hoping we can find something on the road vs FAU but the road has been a nightmare for us and against good to decent teams we have looked like complete dog doo

They were on the bubble according to lunardi going into this week

I'm sure we will struggle at FAU on Saturday, but then we've got a string of games we can win...we just need to keep building. I just want to see continued improvement and growth on the road and I'm happy for now.

This is exactly what I was talking about in another thread. At the time Memphis was in the NET 50s which is often on the wrong side of the line unless you’re in a “power” conference but they have a sterling Q1/Q2 record which is important to the committee so they were probably in. Now that they are in the 70s, and probably have a loss or two coming, will that Q1/Q2 record save them? I don’t think so, unless they win out including the tourney I think they’re with us on the outside looking in.
