there may be an ITS article in the queue and dropping over night but here are the cliff notes from today's presser, if you don't have the 30 mins to watch it.

Speed and tempo of offense is up a notch from last year. OL in great shape.

Both QBs need to grow. Both inconsistent.

Only 2 guys are competing for the QB position.

After only three days he is pleased with showing of new DS and punter. Ready for pressure situations with just a few workouts together.

Speed, coverage ability and length of Whitfield makes STAR position different than last year under certain situations.

First job of QB this year compared to last year is line up and distribute ball. They won't be asked to be playmakers going into a game. Offense will be wrinkled for each player if he plays. Offense will grow in different direction now that Evans is gone.

Comfortable playing both QBs against OSU if no clear starter emerges and both are too inconsistent at this point to seize that role.

President has more time in offense and played similar scheme in high school. He understands strategy and tactics of the offense better than Skipper.

Skipper has stronger arm but player that avoids mistakes and moves chains will be the starter.

Anderson emerging as a legit target at inside receiver. Both freshman WR prospects are still too raw to contribute if season started today.

TU defense improved in 17 of 19 categories last year from the previous year. Significant improvement over last year is possible and expected with the talent upgrade.

Safety play is better than expected and makes practice difficult for them to teach the WR because of so many balls being broken up.

Ramadi Warren: "Ramadi is still coming along." "We are still going through the process of it right now ... if we've got Ramadi, Ramadi makes us better and if we don't, he will still be a part of it. We're gonna keep working and lovin'"

He's not the replacement for Flanders. "Taylor is the one with the strength and the burst like James that needs to step up."

Very business like demeanor on running backs until Shamari mentioned, then huge grin. "That dude is tough as nails and already has a great understanding of what we are doing up front ... he's got a vision that you can't coach. That kid can play." (On Shamari's pass protection) "you have to understand what we are doing and then do it. He has a good grasp of what we are doing .... and then (grinning) he provides punch." "He's gonna be special"

10 votes in the poll means nothing. There shouldn't be a poll until four weeks in.
